Whom would you rather have on your team moving forward?
Pettis is on the rise without any serious competition on roster.
Coutee successful rookie season however, Hopkins and fuller remain.

I think the Pettis hype is a bit much right now, but I'd still take him over Keke.

There is no feasible argument to be made for Couttee over Pettis.

I don't agree with this. Coutee was a Target monster when on the field, and his team didn't use 2 day 2 picks on WRs. I'll take Keke.

1. Pettis was a more lauded prospect pre-draft (granted, he wasn’t expected by most to be a 2nd round pick, but still). Point for Pettis.

2. Pettis was drafted well ahead of Couttee. Point for Pettis.

3. Both were productive at different points in their rookie season. Year 1 production is a wash.

4. Hopkins will soak up way more targets than a TE. Point for Pettis.

5. Pettis has Deebo to compete with for targets, Couttee has Fuller. Wash, IMO.

Pettis is over rated, but this is still easily Pettis

i'm not sure this matters, and I'm not sure it's true. They were both considered borderline day 2/3 prospects, and SF pulled the trigger earlier than expected on Pettis. Wash.

Sure, although 3rd pick of day 3 is still a fairly premium pick. Point Pettis.

Yep, year 1 is a wash

Competition favors Coutee IMO. Hopkins over Kittle, but who outside of Fuller (when healthy) and Hopkins are taking targets in Houston? San Fran added 2 day 2 WRs and another good pass catching back on top of Kittle. I don't think teams often di that when they are happy with their current weapons (save for a major philosophy change like in Arizona)
ETA- it's worth mentioning Houston added TE Warring in round 3, but I'll still prefer Coutee's situation to Pettis'.

I'm not saying it's a slam dunk for Coutee, I think it's close. But saying there's no feasible argument for Coutee is flat out wrong.
Stop putting him in a Pettis-tal

Can either of these guys rebound and make something come 2020?

I think Pettis can bounce back on a new team. I don't have much hope in Coutee
