Mike Davis/Tarik Cohen
Mike Davis/Tarik Cohen
What's Mike Davis's/Tarik Cohen's outlook for next year now that Jordan Howard has left. The Bears don't have a 1st or 2nd, so I'm not sure if they would use their 3rd to draft a RB.

Cohen was already in line for more work with the arrival of CPatt, this gives him even more.

They will almost certainly add a RB in the draft. Looks like a committee approach.

Lol. They're not gonna committee. Nagy loves Cohen. They offloaded Howard for a 6th because he was expendable and this gives them more touches for Cohen.FantasyFreak wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2019 6:09 pm They will almost certainly add a RB in the draft. Looks like a committee approach.
They'll add a 4th or later RB to be a power back between the tackles when absolutely needed and Cohen will get even more work than last year.

Re: Mike Davis/Tarik Cohen
I don't see anything changing. Cohen was already close to a 100 target/100 carry RB last season and he's too small to handle a bigger workload.

Re: Mike Davis/Tarik Cohen
Glad you have all the answers. Cohen definitely profiles as an early down back and a guy that can carry the full load. Howard is a FA next year, and they probably had no intentions of signing him again, so getting a pick makes sense. Nagy was under no obligation to give Howard the ball last year, he could have given Cohen as many touches as he wanted with Howard on the roster. Mike Davis arguably looked better than Howard and is capable of playing all 3 downs. How can we possibly know what Nagy is going to do in March? To me, it looks like a committee this year. Cohen thrived with limited touches, he will have his touches managed, IMO.hockeyBjj wrote: ↑Thu Mar 28, 2019 6:59 pmLol. They're not gonna committee. Nagy loves Cohen. Re: Mike Davis/Tarik Cohen
Now it all comes down to what Chicago can land in the draft. I do think if they don't address RB before Day 3, Davis has a real shot at a major role this year.
Howard had 270 touches last season in his pairing with Cohen. Cohen's awesome, but if I'm his dynasty owner I don't want him getting 15-20 carries a week -- I'd like for him to have a long career instead, catching 60-80 passes every year and keeping his total carries in the double-digits. Nagy used Cohen last year almost identically to how the Saints used Sproles, and I think that's excellent.

Re: Mike Davis/Tarik Cohen
Very important detail - the earliest pick chicago has is #87. I think they have 5 picks total in the draft and the last three are wayyyy back there. Will they use pick #87 on an RB or trade up? Personally, I doubt it.
That said, I picked up Mike Davis off the scrap heap last year hoping for something good in free agency so I am biased. But odds are looking good for him as far as the draft goes. Hard to say with any certainty of course.

Re: Mike Davis/Tarik Cohen
No one else thinks RB3 is already on the roster in the form of Patterson?
Re: Mike Davis/Tarik Cohen
I expect Nall to get a chance at least to earn a roster spot. Latest mock draft (4 round) has bears taking Holyfield in the 4th
Watson Goff Purdy
Pierce Swift Robinson Conner Patterson
Hill Lamb Pittman Williams Renfrow Samuel
Hockenson Knox Kmet Schultz

Nall isn't bad at all, and has pretty good hands with a great agility score. 56-563-4 receiving line in college.

Re: Mike Davis/Tarik Cohen
Mike Davis is worth a stash for me. Bears don't pick until 87, and I'm not sure there's a RB that is a huge threat to walk in and immediately take the job at that point. If people are paying a first for Damien Williams, I'd gladly rather pay a 3rd and take a swing at Davis, since neither are long term answers.
