Who do you think has the best chance to be a fantasy relevant backup if the no 1 gets injured next season:

Bo Scarbrough, Cowboys

John Kelly, Rams

Chase Edmonds, Cardinals??

like all these guys as third or fourth round picks, and think Scarborough makes a ton of sense in Dallas.

Not as excited about Edmonds even with a DJ injury. We saw what average backup RBs in Arizona did last year. DJ's production seems like it's all DJ, not much to the situation.

Dallas and LA I think are good spots with great RBs, but if the great RBs get hurt they are still solid with average guys. I like Kelly more than Bo and he can catch, which the Rams ask their RB to do a lot. Seems like he could rack up some nice volume if Gurley were to go down.

Kelly
Edmonds

Scarbrough - good chance he isn't even a top 3 RB on the team when the season rolls around assuming Austin is labelled a RB.

A little disappointed Kelly went so low in the draft and is now stuck behind Gurley but I'd value him as probably the most valuable Handcuff in the NFL behind only Tevin Coleman and potentially whatever RB would replace Bell.

If we know he's the handcuff, sure. Absolutely no guarantee he would start if Gurley misses time, however.

Latavius Murray if Cook isn't 100% at start of season, or re-injures himself

He did pretty fair numbers while splitting the load with McKinnon last season. Could be a solid RB2 for fantasy during games Cook is out

Of those 3 I'd have to go with Kelly.

I hear you, but the entire NFL decided Kelly wasn't worth much draft capital. It's no given that he will be a sure thing even as the 2nd string back.

Not sure any of those 3 would actually be the direct backup for the starters.
