Clemson seems to have success developing big game receivers.
Georgia seems to produce solid running backs.
Could the same be true of Fournette and Cook?
Obviously skill sets are skill sets and you can't put too much stick in schools...but...I would think that if Cook is greater than Freeman, sign me up.
You probably would not want to evaluate a player based on who the the school previously produced at the position. I also wouldn't want to try and judge a player in relation to if he is better than another player that happened to play at the same school years ago.

The more I dive into this, the less decisive I get. I think I have to back off until we get some more information because, for me, its paralysis by analysis.

I can only imagine what Fournette would've done behind FSU's line.

I've watched some Fournette & Cook tape now.

I don't think anyone can say it is clearly one or the other.
Personally, I still prefer Cook.

I also don't think Fournette is the generational talent some are making him out to be. But then again, there's a new generational talent in every class according to many. I feel like it's a way to hype up the draft for the casual fan.

I think evaluating college RBs is one of the toughest things to do; mainly because the majority of the things these RBs pull off in college would never pan out like that in the NFL.

Why do you prefer Cook over Fournette? Does his size concern you at all?

FSU's line was pretty bad this year. Roderick Johnson (their best linemen) was suppose to be a first round pick this year and he severely underperformed

I would put it over LSU's line though. Not to mention, being in an offense where you have to respect the aerial game as well. Fournette is the only reason LSU's offense had any chance at being respectable.

If anything has been made perfectly clear from the past few years, it is that situation is huge for RBs. Ask any Gurley owner....Any discussion of who is truly the '1.01' is pointless until we know where they will be.

Gurley owner here. True. But only because both prospects are considered solid. No way I would have taken a lower tier player just because of situation. Though Gurley definitely has me paying more attention to that. It's not completely about who is good, it's also about who is in the right offense and situation.

Well, the Rams weren't exactly a dream situation and Gurley still went 1.01 in most drafts two years ago and finished as an RB1. The problem is the Rams offense got worse. As we know, situations change, so even if you're taking an RB, you better be sold on his talent more than you are the team he's going to.

Zeke to Dallas was just a rare combination of a great talent going to a great situation.

The point is this thread is going to continue to debate the minutiae of these two players without knowing a huge part of the equation. It is pointless to say one or the other is the '1.01' at this time.

100% true. They had no offense besides Fournette and Guice

Not Fournette vs Cook but Fournette vs Elliott
