My league has implemented a salary cap. This will be the first offseason with it. Salary cap is designed similarly to the NFL. Prices are set for the year, after the year the prices update. after week 8 no trading until the new league year and everyone must be under the cap by then.
This might cause some teams to cut some players in order to fit in the cap and im curious on the best way to go about the FA process for those players.
My first idea is an auction draft. I just dont know how to go about it.
two ideas.
1. player prices are set, everyone is given the same budget but you have to have enough cap space to bid
2. bid budget reflects your cap space, this would be easier to set up during the draft, but player prices would become inconsistent
I'm leaning towards option 1 as it would create more consistency, option 2 is just another idea, feedback is welcome

Re: FA Auction Draft
I would go with option 2. Let the market drive player values.
Re: FA Auction Draft
I have 2 options for Auction Leagues in 2020. Been doing ONLY AUCTIONS since 1990s, you're welcome to jump aboard
1. FREE YAHOO league, looking for 3 orphans
2. $$$-League ESPN - first year dynasty
BOTH ARE SAME FORMAT (see below)
(14-teams) PPR, 2QB, 30-Man Roster, IDP, Auction Draft, MUST LOVE QBs [this is a QB centric league as the NFL is/ not RB centric] 3 spots available in Yahoo, ESPN has about 6 owner openings Customized Auction Value Sheet w/ Scoring & Starter Kit provided
***I agree with Vectorgod, go with number 2 option
