Trading Auction Cash

Postby AtlasShrugged » Wed Dec 25, 2019 6:04 am

Merry Christmas all -
We are about to go through a major restructure of our league. We currently run two drafts. One rookie non-snake in the summer and an auction draft for the vets/FAs post kept players. One item that came up in our discussions the the ability to trade auction cash for the following year.

For example:
Team A trades Matt Ryan
Team B trades (give) $100 in auction cash for the following year

You give do anything like this or experience any issues? Obviously it is done to encourage trading. Would love to hear some pros and cons.

Our league does not allow it. All transactions must fit within the salary cap and the league max for contract years.
10-team, no flex, standard scoring, $250 cap:
QB: J. Hurts ($1), Mac Jones ($3)
RBs: Barkley ($81), Mixon ($55), Pollard ($18), Perine ($1),Scott ($1), IR Penny ($1)
WRs: M. Williams ($30), DJ Moore ($7.00), E. Moore ($5.50), C. Claypool ($5), KJ Osborn ($2.50), J. Reynolds ($1), G Wilson (PS $7.00/5 yrs)
TEs: D. Goddert ($18), D. Njoku ($1), J. Johnson ($1)

The more I think about it the more I think that it is a bad idea.
