Cooper ($20) or Chubb ($5)

Postby Portsmouth Spartans » Wed Feb 13, 2019 3:43 pm

I was offered my Cooper ($20) for his Chubb ($5). $200 budgets. Our salary/extension system is unique, so I put the salary and corresponding year below. I already have Zeke and Gurley and we don't play a flex.... but I'm a big believer in getting something for your players while you can.. I feel like I'm selling high on Cooper but not necessarily buying low on Chubb.. def paying full price.. but for an asset that'll probably maintain its value.

What side would you take... knowing you own Gurley and Zeke. Rest of team is in signature. Notable free agents this year are Hopkins, Allen, Cooks, ABrown, and maybe AJ Green.. so I have an opportunity to get a WR1-2 back (I should have the cap space).

Cooper
2019: $20
2020: $20
2021: free agent (can't extend)

Chubb
2019: $5
2020: $5
2021: $15
2022: $15

Snap-accept.

Chubb > Cooper in a vacuum. Here, his salary is MUCH lower AND you have for two extra years with the possibility of extending him. This is about as easy a trade to make as I can think of.

I would take it. I think the value for Chubb is much better and that value will be attractive to others and will open trades for you.

I agree with the first two guys. Definitely Chubb for me. You have to look at the $15 you save as well. Put that towards one of the top WRs in FA and you really make out well.
