Servo wrote: Mon Feb 03, 2020 10:17 am Don't think it's unfair to say that Jimmy G was/is very average.

After stopping KC under the 2min warning, they appear to not trust him enough to try and lead a scoring drive before the half.
I agree.
My observation has been that for the most part he plays ok with a lead or in low pressure situations, but when the pressure is on he often struggles.

Exactly how I see it too. He tends to make plenty of mistakes when the pressure is on, which you can say about many QBs but it seems like so many people wanted to anoint Jimmy G the next star QB, personally, I don’t see it.

For those of you saying that Jimmy G was bad under pressure... read this article: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/286 ... rs-blew-it

2nd to last paragraph - he was 2-9 for 31 yards with 2 picks and a QB rating of 1.9. He was atrocious when under pressure. It is worth noting he was 18-22 with a passer rating of 117 when not under pressure, but with how Shanahan runs play action and their strong run game you would expect that.

He’s still got a lot to prove to show he’s more than a league average QB.

Just came here to say, HOW BOUT THEM CHIIIEEEFSS!!!

Guess people minimizing your win is common place. Until now I hadn’t experienced it from the winning side. Kind of stinks but I’m just going to ride the wave of joy for awhile.

Also, we are all just witnesses to Mahomes and his greatness. He plays his worst or second worst game of his career and still comes up huge in the big moments. He now has experience winning a Super Bowl and will have his feet under him in future appearances. It’s so cool to be a chiefs fan right now.

Enjoy it man, I thought it was a great game played by the two best teams in Football this year. I take nothing away from either side.

Mahomes and Andy Reid deserve every bit of this success. We are witness to the start of the Mahomes dynasty.

But they didn't...
yeah, but not because of how the 2nd quarter ended. that decision had them leading 20-10 (without conceding any points to the chiefs after the break) with 12 minutes on the clock and ball possession. you want to point out how scared they were, look at the 4th quarter, not the end of the second.

My comment about them playing scared wasn't just about how the first half ended.

You can call is scared or just say playing it safe...doesn't really change a whole lot. My point was, KC was going for it on 4th downs and just playing aggressive most of the game. Whereas the 49ers looked like they were playing not to lose instead of trying to win a game. It felt like they didn't stick to their game plan and were glad to have a lead and just didn't want to give it away...instead of trying to build on it and go for the kill.

Takeaways:

Kittle got free a ton late in the game and Jimmy G just plain didn't see him.

I am excited for the Andy Reid hamberder memes.
