2018 Coaching Changes

Postby Pullo Vision » Sun Dec 16, 2018 1:54 pm

There've been HCs/Coordinators who got themselves fired so far- Mike McCarthy, Hue Jackson, Joe DeFillippo. There was talk Jason Garrett was on the hot seat, but their hot streak could kill that.

Who are coaches and coordinators you think could be let go?

I think Marvin Lewis is finally gone.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Todd Bowles is fired and hopefully Koetter is finally fired.

It will be interesting to see if Cleveland sticks with Gregg Williams..

Koetter’s gotta be gone. Rumours have been trailing Vance Joseph. If he goes, I hope Elway goes with him. There’s also talk Rivera might get the axe with new owner and GM.

Also, I know he led them to the playoffs last year, but the Jags have consistently looked disinterested in playing football and you can only blame so much of that on Bortles. Marrone should get consideration.

Have to wonder if the Dolphins get rid of Dowell Loggains, though I think Gase is the one who calls plays.

I'm curious about Koetter. It seemed him and Garrett were easy goners , but both teams have played better, Tampa specifically after ditching their D coord.

I'll throw the Redskins in as a possibility. Watching redzone, announcer said Jay Gruden is 0-14 when trailing at half.

Gruden might get another year. Redskins have overachieved despite having a ton of injuries and losing their starting QB.

TB needs a new coach. They're 10-20 in the last 2 seasons.

Marvin Lewis is trash. Not only is he a terrible coach, but he hired on Hue Jackson as a consultant as well
I may or may not be related to Bryan Edwards

I'm legitimately worried the Bungles will promote Hue if they fire Marvin. Common sense dictates that they won't, but would anyone really be surprised.

It would be impossible to make a decision and then seriously expect fans to continue to support your team. But then again, has that stopped the Bengals before?

Not sure on Lewis. Cincinnati is cheap and they signed Lewis until the end of 2019 after letting his contract expire. My guess is that they’ll finish out the contract and make a decision at that time.

as a steeler fan getting a gregg william hue jackson duo is beyond the best case dream scenario ... especially if as reported harbaugh could be done in baltimore . Tomlin needs all the help he can get to be the best coach in the division.

Sounds like Steve Wilks might get the axe after one. I never like to speculate on single season coaches, but there’s often one of them.

Well, just for the mismanagement of his personnel alone he should be fired. I get that they've got a rookie QB, but David Johnson was a pretty good pass catching RB prior to this season. Maybe he should be used more as an outlet when Rosen is feeling the heat?

I didn't expect Arizona to contend or anything, but Wilks and his staff have done a terrible job with the pieces they inherited. That team should have been better than they were. I'd wager you're correct that Wilks is replaced.
