Dynasty Startup-Rate My Team

http://football7.myfantasyleague.com/20 ... 70776&O=17 I posted a link to the draft. I was in the 2 spot. It's a 12 team PPR start 1QB 1-3RBs 1-3WRs 1TE league 20 man rosters. I've been going heavy at WR because I've figured out that in these leagues it's usually easier to start 1RB and 3WRs most weeks. Here is my team, I would like to hear what everyone thinks and I hope the link to the draft works, thanks in advance.

QBs: Tannehill, Romo
RBs: Forsett, J.Allen, Vereen, Langford, Mike Davis, Woodhead
WRs: A.Brown, Jordy, Amari Cooper, Jarvis Landry, B.Quick, S.Coates, C.Conley, K.Bell
TEs: Olsen, Ebron

I would have taken a younger WR than Nelson...Watkins.
I think you took Forsett and Landry too early.
A defense in the 13th round?
I think your rbs are weak.

All in all though, if things fall right, your team could be competitive right out of the gate.

I'm not high on Watkins, at all, terrible situation, but point taken, Jordy is 30 or soon to be. I did take Forsett too early, I agree, but in my defense, I'm use to doing email startups and this was a live dynasty draft and I might have panicked but I also handcuffed him with Allen so in case Forsett is done in the near future. I took Landry 47 overall, his ADP is 50, I'm higher on Landry than most. I consider him to be Edelman like and I'll take that all day in a PPR league but again, I'm higher than most on Landry. I have no excuse on the 13th round defense, lol, other than I really like the Rams D. Overall, I think, I have probably the best WRs in the league but arguably the worst or bottom 3 RBs in the league but if Forsett/Allen can have a solid season, which I think they can, my plan was to start only 1 RB a week anyway. I also got sniped on Frank Gore and ended up taking Vereen, that hurt. My starting lineup most weeks will be Tannehill/Forsett/AB/Jordy/Cooper or Landry/ Olsen and I think I can be in the thick of things and if Tannehill doesn't take the next step, I still have Romo so basically if Forsett/Allen can stay productive, with my WRs, I think I have a chance.

This is about as shallow as starting requirements get in dynasty. My goal in this situation is to obtain as many high end players or youngsters with that potential. Players who are merely good do not have a lot of value in this format. Also QB and TE values increase somewhat in this scenario.

The first 2 picks are great. But realize your somewhat committed to try to win now. Hate Cooper in this case. Would have gone someone like Hopkins or Hilton who have already put up big numbers and are young if you wanted a receiver. Another way to go is to draft a Watkins/Hopkins type in the 2nd and then take Cooper in the 3rd. Remember to stay consistent in your philosophy. Agree with other posters too soon for Forsett/Landry. Landry has little value for me in this format as he will most likely not start for your team except as a bye week fill in. Would rather gamble on someone with a higher ceiling like Parker/DGB. Like Olsen/Tannehill selections though I was amazed Floyd was still there. Overall, like your team and could be a contender but little depth at RB could cause issues.

The only problem with that is Landry isn't playing with Tom Brady. Landry will have to be a 100 catch per year receiver for you to have made the right pick there, and that's tough to bet on considering the QB he's playing with and the plethora of other talented receivers on the team (Parker and Cameron, maybe Stills, maybe Ajayi out of the backfield). I don't want to bash the pick too much because I think Landry is a good player, but I also don't think he's going to win you any championships whereas Parker or ARob potentially could.

That's a good point about Landry, he probably won't start most weeks but that's if Cooper is as good as I think he will be,then I will be starting AB, Jordy and Cooper, I kinda hedged my bet there with that pick but then again, I'm higher on Landry than most and won't own DGB for where he is being drafted, don't care for those Josh Gordon types, too many off the field issues for me, if a guy like that ends staying straight then good for the owners that took a chance but I won't, not in the early rounds. I almost took Yeldon instead of Landry,maybe I could've went that route. Yeah, my RBs are my main concern, just thinking/hoping Forsett/Allen can get me through.

You only need to start 1RB, I wouldn't worry too much about them at this point

I'm not too worried about them right now but overall, imo, it's my weakest unit. I really like my WRs though, apparently more than most, so we'll see, the season can't get here soon enough for me.

I'm very high on Landry as well but like someone said he needs volume to be effective and now the Dolphins have too many targets IMO. I hope I'm wrong though... Also like someone else said you're in win now, you should have gotten someone like TY or Hopkins instead of Cooper.

I got offered a trade for Landry yesterday and ended up taking it. I got Bishop Sankey + 2016 1st & 3rd round picks. I'm not high on Sankey but Landry was going to be my 4th WR anyway so I felt like it was a pretty good return for him, getting the picks and all. My lineup, most weeks will be Tannehill/Forsett/A.Brown/Jordy/Cooper/Olsen, in my opinion, that's pretty competitive. Although I have some older pieces in Forsett, Jordy and Olsen, the way I "try" to draft is have a younger guy to take the older guy's place eventually. Like in Forsetts case, it would be Buck Allen. In Olsens case, it's Ebron. Then with Jordy, I've got two 2016 first rounders and drafted 4 rookie WRs so it might not work but I don't feel like it's that old of a team.
