Is there any shot that the Cowboys draft a receiver in the first round, a player like Nelson Angholor, or Like Perimann, or even TE Maxx Williams, then taking a running back like Abdullah or Johnson in the 2nd?..
Thoughts?

Not likely but I suppose if someone they liked dropped and the RB's/CB/DL they wanted were already gone I guess it is possible they take a WR like DGB/Perriman. I think they would look for an opportunity to trade down as a more likely option but anything is possible

They have major holes on Defense that I'd like to see them address before they spend a premium pick on a skill position.

2nd round RB would be fine. I think they are relatively happy with Gavin Escobar behind Witten at TE and Williams & Beasley at the 2&3 WR. They also spent a 5th round pick on Devin Street last year who they hope can fill the 4th WR role vacated by Dwayne Harris.

Obviously anything is possible (especially with Jerry Jones in your draft room) but I don't see it. I think you're likely looking at a 3rd round RB and then a 4th round WR if they elect to take one.

Yeah I would be very surprised if they went WR in the first round. I think they will go d-line or CB in the first and RB in the 2nd but of course, it all depends how the draft plays out before pick #27.

Doubt it. RB/DL/DB have to be top needs right now. They are a candidate to take Gregory if he falls IMO because with the Hardy suspension they have a hole to fill again. Yes Hardy will be back eventually and Gregory has his own issues but some evaluators have Gregory as their #1 pass rusher if you strip away his off the field stuff so if he fell that far I feel like the Cowboys would be willing to take the risk, especially since I assume Gurley and the top 2 or 3 DBs will be gone by their pick and possibly Melvin as well

It was just a thought, since dez got franchised. But the defense is a glaring issue, but I was just seeing the possibilities.
