Anyone think Cole Beasley can break out this year?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

And be like an Edelman or Welker?

Edelman & Welker were both the primary targets of Brady.

Beasley is the 3rd or 4th option in Dallas.

So, no.

I think that Beasley will improve upon his 2014 stats and possibly beat out Williams for more snaps, but I don't think he will come anywhere close to Edelman or Welker-esque production.

There's a huge difference between "break out" and "be like Welker". Usable fantasy option some weeks, sure. Top 30 WR? Doubtful.

He's a guy I'm keeping an eye on. He outplayed TWill down the stretch, posting a 21-277-4 line vs TWill's 10-195-2 after their Week 11 bye. Will he become Edelman or Welker? Probably not. Dez eats up too many targets for him to climb that high. Can he be a serviceable sport starter? Absolutely. The Cowboys gave him $7M guaranteed when all they needed to do was tender him at a 2nd Round level to keep him from leaving. They must see something in him.

I actually met him at Baylor hospital when he and his wife were there for the birth of their child last season. Outside of him being a down-to-earth cool dude, I remeber him wearing a skull cap and pink shoes. He also told me he was trying to be "low key," but was wearing a Cowboy's t-shirt haha. Great guy. I have pulled for him ever since.

No, I don't think there's a chance that he breaks out. He may flash a few games, but I think the issue with him will always be consistency. I think he's a guy you use as part of a game plan against certain defenses and as such his production will always be erratic. When you think about guys like Welker and Edleman they have two things in common 1) The Patriots system (so if Beasley ever finds his way to NE then the answer to your question would be 'it's very possible.) 2) When they have been consistently productive they have been the most targeted WR on their team or close to it, Beasely will not lead Dallas in targets, or come close. He's a nice player with a nice skill set, just in the wrong situation for him to ever 'break-out'.

For the price (I picked him up off waivers a month ago) I think he's got upside. I think he'll be a good bye week or emergency injury fill-in or perhaps as your WR4/5 if needed, but I wouldn't count on much more like he's going to be a WR 2 or something. You never know and the Cowboys certainly paid him so they may have bigger plans for him. But for the price which should be next to nothing, great end of bench kind of guy.

His end of the year production, and the cowboys paying him so well make me happy to hold him on my team for now.

I think he's a solid sleeper in deep PPR leagues. As someone else mentioned, his late season usage and DAL paying him a decent contract are good signs.

The comparison/projection I've made before for him is Andrew Hawkins 2014 with more TDs. I think he has a decent chance at low WR3 to high WR4 numbers. Not exactly a breakout, but could become pretty useful in leagues that start 4 or 5 WR.

As a Cowboys fan, I would say this is the perfect post. Agree with everything stated here.

Don't disagree that Beasley emerged late and could possibly be the better option moving forward but I thought it was worth mentioning that TWill broke his finger week 12.

Nov 24, 2014 - Wide receiver Terrance Williams broke the tip of his index finger, but does not need surgery on it. He is expected to play through it with a splint.

Didn't realize he had broken his finger. That would definitely hinder his production down the stretch and explain his lackluster performance.
