This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Jordy for A. Brown

Postby justhisler » Tue Feb 03, 2015 1:24 pm

Team 1 in signature: Got offered A. Brown, Colston and a 2nd for Jordy and G Tate. I like Brown but I think giving up the 2 would put a hurting on my WR situation.

I would say this trade hurts you more than helps you. You may be getting the best piece, but your loing your two best players for just 1. I would hate to submit a line up that included Jennings, Nicks, and Bowe because I didnt have any better options.

Presuming 12 teams, that team is in trouble and due for at least a mini-rebuild. You'll have an easier time getting trade value from Antonio Brown than from Jordy/Golden. I'd make the deal.

I take it and use the next 7 months figuring out how to upgrade your WR2. This is a reasonable price to pay for AB. I also think Tate may not duplicate this season's output if Calvin stays healthy.

This is very True... Whether you make this trade or not, it will require you to do some serious thinking on the direction of your squad heading forward.

I took over the team last year and figured I need a rebuild. Its a good point that I'd get more for brown.

X2
ABrown will be a much more desirable asset than the combination of Jordy/Golden

Is this PPR? Regardless, I'd stick with Brown.

As Jules pointed out - you should try very hard to pull a deal like this off. However, as a rebuilding team, I'd demand that Colston was dropped from the deal, either in exchange for a younger prospect or for a future 2nd round pick or something.
10-team/.5 PPR/5 Pts per Passing TD. Start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2FLEX (rb/wr/te)
QB: J. Hurts, K. Murray
RB: Bi. Robinson, D. Henry, D. Achane, , J. Cook, Z. Charbonnet, T. Chandler, R. Johnson, K. Mitchell, J.K. Dobbins, T. Allgeier, J. McLaughlin, S. Tucker, T. Bigsby
WR: G. Wilson, B. Aiyuk, J. Waddle, T. Higgins,, Z. Flowers, Di. Johnson, K. Toney, A. Iosivas
TE: K. Pitts, E. Engram, C. Okonkwo, G. Dulcich

I took the deal. I dont mind colston. He can be a decent spot start over some of my guys. Guy is actually trying to trade for Brown back but I dont like the deal. Lafell, and a 2016 1st and 2015 3rd.

That's horrible.

First, I think most owners would think it's pretty sketchy for a team to trade away a player, turn around and trade for the player, even in the off-season with no significant time in between trades.

Second, his value is so far off. Try offering him Colston, your 2016 1st and 3rd for Nelson and see what he says.

That is frickin funny. I feel weird even way down the road when I inquire about getting a player back from the team I had previously traded him to.
He's probably sad. You got Brown and a 2nd for Jordy and Tate? That's a bargain.
