It is a 12 team ppr dynasty league and I have 1.02 in the start up draft. Starting reqs are QB RB RB WR WR WR TE FLEX. I'm assuming the guy at 1.01 takes Dez and if not I'll take him. I really like OBJ as a talent but I feel that his 2014 season was the best statistically we will ever see, I mean seriously that was impressive but I think it's highly unreasonable to expect those numbers to continue over the course of his career with Cruz coming back and defenses having more tape on him. So basically I'm deciding between AJG, DT, Julio, and A. Brown. And I'll list my thinking on each and would like to hear who and why I should draft with 1.02
AJG - Think he's done great with Dalton as his QB but at times he is held in check and is in a run first offense. .
DT- Think he's a beast but feel that some of his value is tied to Manning who I personally think will retire this season. Plus entirely new coaching staff and probably new QB.
Julio- I think he's the most "beastly" of the group but nagging injuries concern me. Not sure I want to spend the 1.02 on a guy who may miss a playoff game or a critical week that leads to playoff seating ect. Do really like the offense and QB situation he is in though.
A. Brown- Love his consecutive streak of 5+ catches and 50+ yards. Feel his floor is extremely high and is a weekly lock for 15+ points in a ppr league. Probably the safest pick IMO.
So what are your thoughts on the above players and who I should select at 1.02 in the start up. Thanks for any advice.
EDIT: unfortunately trading is not allowed in the start up.

I think you answered your own question. Clearly, you are leaning Brown and I'm a believer that you need to be comfortable with your picks in the first three rounds. I know it's crazy earlier to think of a QB there, but having Luck has been amazing for me and does give a lot of piece of mind not worrying about a QB over the next 10-15 years.

I'd go Julio. If you're truly indifferent, try to trade back to 1.04, even if you just get a second-round rookie pick.

Unfortunately the commish set it up to not allow trading during the start up which I think is dumb.Jules wrote:I'd go Julio. If you're truly indifferent, try to trade back to 1.04, even if you just get a second-round rookie pick.
Thanks everyone for the responses keep them coming as I am still weighting all my options.

Re: Start up 1.02 help
PPR, I would go with Brown. I don't trust Julio or DT w/out manning but I do respect the talent. I have AJG in my main league and he had a down year, but I do think things will only look up next year, baring injury. But he hasn't had more than 98 receptions in a season, even with starting all 16. A.Brown is a beast, and a ppr monster (129 for 1698 in 2014).

I'm with Jules. See if you can trade back to 1.4 or even 1.5 (I'd probably want 1.4 to at least have an option)
If you keep the pick I'd probably go with Brown, but I'll admit Julio in Shanny's offense is pretty enticing

I'd go AJ or Julio, but you gotta go with the guy you believe with. All of them are good picks.
Contract dynasty football with IDP's are my jam.

In that case, you have to go with your gut.Average Joe007 wrote:Unfortunately the commish set it up to not allow trading during the start up which I think is dumb.Jules wrote:I'd go Julio. If you're truly indifferent, try to trade back to 1.04, even if you just get a second-round rookie pick.

Re: Start up 1.02 help
I would go w/ OBj then AJ Green. Cruz coming back will only help Beckham get some space. + you could trade him after draft if you wanted.
Green, Julio, Dt, Brown are a toss up. tough choice I like all of em' but see OBJ as the one that is carrying the most value & proved in his rookie year that he is elite. Good luck
