Attempt at Matthews and OBJ

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Attempt at Matthews and OBJ

Postby Edgy68 » Wed Dec 03, 2014 8:05 pm

I offered Ellington, McKinnon (he owns Peterson), and M. Bryant (he's a Steeler fan) for the 2 listed. Don't expect it to be accepted, but get it started. Would swapping out Ellington for Gio be a reasonable counter proposal to someone who is short an RB?

I don't see any way you land this deal as proposed. 8 teams with 15 keepers? Matthews and OBJ are high value assets in any format, but small league keeper further emphasizs the value of top assets. You will have to be willing to give Ellington and Giovanni to make this work.
Contract dynasty football with IDP's are my jam.

Personally, I wouldn't take that offer for ODB himself (assuming I owned him). That kid is special. The hype around him is real, and Matthews has been extremely productive since Sanchez became the starter. I think it would be hard to sell two currently injured RBs and a burned-bright-but-faded rookie WR for two highly-productive and highly-touted rookie WRs.

why are you trying to move your proven rb's for more youth at wr? i mean seriously your looking to trade yourself into so many prospect wr's that its not even funny. if you want those two, just offer a 3 for 2 or 4 for 2 until you get the deal done... let him pick who he wants...i mean i see no reason to load up on prospect wr's in a league like this. i get that you can try to trade all these wr's for rb's, but you already have 2 of the best dynasty rb's in the game in ellington and gio, especially in the ppr format. you can only start 4 wr's max. there is no need to roster 12, especially at the expense of 2 of these rb's.

i tried to aquire matthews in a league, and the matthews owner said he wouldn't even trade matthews for cobb. i assume the owner once gave mark sanchez a dirty sanchez in college, otherwise i dont see that type of valuation making sense...

Maybe it stems from the uncertainty around Cobb's future going into free agency this offseason. Sure, if he resigns in Green Bay then his value stays very high but look what happened to Decker when he left a cushy situation to chase dollar signs.

The double Samchez reference did make me smile. What about one of them for one of them? Purposefully left this ambiguous.
