Contenders trade, easy accept?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Contenders trade, easy accept?

Postby hbomb » Sat Nov 15, 2014 5:43 pm

I'm in 2nd place and the other team is in 1st.

I give Le'Veon Bell

I get Dez Bryant + Jerrick McKinnon

He's WR heavy with AB, Dez, Nelson, Gordon, Watkins, Hunter and has Shady, Vereen, Robinson, McKinnon as his RBs.

I think this helps both of us as I was looking for a more solid WR in my 2nd slot, but how bad does this hurt my team's chances for the championship losing my RB2? Also, will stack even more of my eggs into the Denver + Dallas teams, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's great value regardless.

Also, will have to drop somebody. It's between Blackmon, Williams, and Taliaferro. Who has the least long term upside?

I really like that deal, but you are right, it will hamper your run .. you'd be exposed to AP coming back (and McKinnon getting vultured until then) and the headache that is the Den running game, you have 2 out of 3 .. so odds are it'll be the other, heh.

I'd sleep on it, if I took it, I'd drop Williams out of that group .. can't trust Coughlin to use him in the red zone, and he really is a guy that needs to carry it 30+ to get going.

You could put McKinnon on the other side and In slamming accept for Dez. No running backs are worth trading Dez for

And I'm way higher on Bell than most

Man, that's tough. If this weren't your number one opponent for the championship I would say do it. But I think it helps him more than it helps you.

If I were you, I would pass on this one. Your team is built to win now with Payton in there. Instead I would shop Jimmy or Gronk around to someone else for WRs. My reasoning here is that if you imagine an identical top-tier TE and WR, the TE should be more valuable since there are only 2-3 of them in the whole league. For example, if you could get some combo of Gates, Olson, OBJ, Evans, Maclin, Hopkins or similar for either of your stud TEs, you can fill the scoring gap that Floyd leaves you with, with someone who more than offsets the loss you get from whoever replaces Gronk or Jimmy.

It would have to be a very particular situation though, but it's worth looking for.

This is what I'm thinking. He does get stronger for playoffs, but I'm also shopping for a good rental rb and the value is too good. I'm high on McKinnon despite the unresolved AP situation; a sucker for high sparq scores, AP's cap is pretty high next year, and he's already running well.

Also, it would have to be a hefty overpay to pry Graham or Gronk from me this year. I have too much positional advantage starting both and love to have that market cornered.

Honestly if I'm you I probably drop Reggie Wayne before I drop the young guys with lots of upside. You're probably never going to use him since bye weeks have passed for the most part and he's only got between 5 and 7 fantasy games left in his career.

I think this is am auto accept. I would prefer dez over bell, and you also get jerrick!

Exactly. And while you're still positioned for a run this year, it makes your team stronger for the foreseeable future. This is dynasty.

I accepted and ended up dropping Reggie Wayne - thanks for that suggestion.

I feel comfortable with my starting lineup going into the playoffs consisting of Peyton, Demarco, CJ, DT, Dez, Gronk, Graham and option to flex best of T-rich, Hill, McKinnon, J Matt, or Floyd. Bradshaw going down and AP staying suspended lifts my RB3s to RB2 territory and Hill will eventually take over.

Thanks for the input
