Julio Jones for Forte?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Julio Jones for Forte?

Postby SadBucsfan » Mon Nov 03, 2014 11:17 am

I'm in a 10 team PPR league with 3 starting running backs and 4 starting wide receivers. My running backs are L. McCoy, R. Hillman, M. Ball, Juwan Thompson, Bradshaw, Forte, K. Carey, Lamar Miller, and Taliaferro. I'm definitely not hurting there. My wide receivers are Harvin, Edelman, D. Thomas, A. Brown, Josh Gordon, Wayne, and Wheaton. I'm not hurting there either... I'm 8-1 and in first place by a large margin in my league (second place is only 6-3). Because it's a PPR league, Forte has been amazing so far. However, I think I might try to sell him high.

Another owner has offered me Julio Jones and Alfred Morris for Forte and Wayne. He is really high on Forte. I feel like I could probably ask for a bit more because he's so fascinated with him. I'm just iffy on doing this because Forte has been so good for me. Should I do it, and if so, should I ask for more?

I would do that in a heartbeat. How much longer do you think Forte can keep it up? Alf is no slouch either and you are getting Julio who will produce at a high level for many more years.

I would take that trade as well. Forte is 28. That's pretty old for an NFL running back. Personally I think Wayne is about done. Julio is a stud and Morris is pretty good.

That's getting Julio at 40% off and Morris for free while also clearing a spot on your roster by getting rid of Wayne (good to have, but ultimately a roster clogger right now in dynasty leagues)

I'll pile on here as well. Forte is gold right now but like you said you have the depth at RB. You will lose some production at RB but with that WR core I think its a good move for sure.

Okay, thanks a bunch guys. I'm going to do it and see if I can get a little more out of the deal too. That would be gravy.

Sure, the trade might be favorable for me as is, but why just accept that when I know I can add a little more? Seriously, if my trade partner gets pissed and declines because I make one counter, he can screw off. Negotiations are about going back and forth. When I mentioned trading Forte and Wayne to him that was his OPENING OFFER.

I'd make this move in a second. Forte is getting closer and closer to the old, old age of 30. I'd look to sell him now before he loses value. To add Julio and Morris is big. Julio is a big upgrade over Wayne and Morris is a downgrade, but the two players as a whole I'm on the Julio side.
