Jeremy Hill +? For Mark Ingram

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Jeremy Hill +? For Mark Ingram

Postby colonnaj94 » Wed Oct 29, 2014 11:10 am

so I just acquired Jeremy hill in team one now I want to look to get an upgrade for my RB3.. I'm considering Hill plus someone from team one for Ingram.. Who should I include? Worth noting the Ingram owner also has Gio so he may be interested.

I wouldn't give Hill for Ingram straight up, let alone add something.

I like Hill's situation. I think he'll eventually have a 50-50 share of the touches on a team that uses its backs a lot. Who knows what situation Ingram will be in next year? I'm becoming more risk averse in my old age.

Having said that, if the Saints re-sign Ingram and let Thomas go, I'll quickly change my tune.

I am not a fan of Hill. I would need a first round pick added to get Ingram. I would try Hunter + Hill, but would probably have to give Robinson + Hill.

A WR3 or a low end TE1 will make up the gap.

Really? Ingram has played in four games this year…and posted over 19 points in three of them. He looks like a monster (leads the league in YPC and also is 5th in TDs among RBs despite missing three games) and has since the end of last season. If someone offered me Hill for Ingram I would have to say thanks but no thanks. And I would venture to guess most Ingram owners would agree. At 24 years young and virtually no tread on the tires, Ingram is all upside at the moment. The Saints are involving him more (and were doing that even before Khiry and PT got hurt) and he's an impending free agent who has a chance to go somewhere where he will be a bell cow. But you would rather have a guy who, at BEST, is going to be stuck in a 50-50 timeshare for the next 3 years? No thanks.

3 good games from Ingram doesn't overshadow 3 seasons of sucking. He's not good and has the benefit of small sample size. Dynasty Rule #1 - don't use small sample-sizes to justify stupid decisions.

Hill is talented and Ingram is a plodding RB w/ no vision who only benefits from being on a good offense.

I can't wait to see Ingram as the feature RB of the Oakland Raiders next year. LMFAO.

I guess.
I still wouldn't offer up Hill for Ingram because I have 3 years of Ingram history to draw from. I am not going to take his best 5 game stretch from that and assume that is the player he is and he is going to go be a bell cow somewhere 2015 and beyond.
Pretty risky move for a team to sign Ingram for big FA $$ considering the RB class that could be available for cheap next May

Absolutely agree with Scorpio here. It would take Hill and a 1st for me to even think about moving Ingram right now.
