Updated Lacy for Ellington deal

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Updated Lacy for Ellington deal

Postby TMajik » Wed Oct 22, 2014 2:43 pm

After some back and forth, the deal on the table is:

I give:
Lacy
Starks
Ertz
Hunter

I get:
Ellington
K. Allen
L. Murray

This is for the team in the signature. Really hard giving up Lacy but something about that timeshare in GB is making this easier to me.
Since the league is a PPR, in my eyes Ellington = Lacy.
I'm not really buying into Hunter being a true WR1 and with my other WR wouldn't really see the field as a dependable option. I would see Allen>Hunter given the QB situation and talent wise.
Murray is just a stash that I got him to add on since he needs a TE. I like the upside in Oakland with DMC getting older and MJD not being there much longer. With D. Allen, Kelce, ASJ and Green I am pretty well covered for a long time and can afford to give up a little.

I am trying to acquire pieces that will help now and with an eye to the future.

Do you see this as fair or too lopsided in either direction?

For whatever my thoughts are worth, I think Ellington is a better play than Lacy for no other reason than the backfield isn't as crowded, and as you say, I think he's a better PPR play. I think Hunter is actually a tick higher than Allen talent wise, but Allen has the better QB throwing to him - although he's just one of Rivers options. I think the trade is pretty fair. I like Murray too, if only the Raiders would cut their losses and ride him.

I think with your RB's i'd rather have Lacy. Hyde and West should be starting in the next couple years and if you remember the Cardinal's were using RBBC earlier this year and will more than likely try to draft a RB in this year's draft. Just my 2 cents.

I think you've got a solid squad as is.
Team 1 - 12 Team 20 man ros. TD Heavy - Big Play Bonuses, 3 pts. Every 25 yds. Rush/Rec.
QB - J. Hurts
RB - J. Taylor, JK Dobbins, R. Stevenson, D. Harris
WR - J. Jefferson, DK, G. Wilson, C. Olave
TE - M. Andrews, McBride

Team 2 - 10 Team 22 man rosters/PPR BIG PLAY TD BONUSES, 1 pt. 10 yds. Rush/Rec. 2 flex
QB - J. Herbert
RB - Saquon, JK Dobbins, 1.01(Bijan), C. Patterson
WR - AJBrown, J. Waddle, G. Wilson, C. Kirk
TE - Goedert

5 Time League Champ

Team 3 - 12 Team 22 man rosters PPR/BIG PLAY BONUS TD’s, RB & TE Premium
QB - J. Herbert
RB - J. Taylor, E. Elliott, D. Henry
WR - C. Kupp, J. Jefferson, Deebo, Amon Ra
TE - T. Kelce, I. Smith Jr.

This year I like the Ellington side. Long term probably the Lacy side. I don't think Lacy's struggles are a permanent thing.

As an owner of both RB's I'd say Ellington side by a hair. Keenan Allen is the tiebreaker.

Lacy side has more potential and near equal production now.
I wouldn't have done it but I can see consolidating pieces into assets with clearer roles.
