Rebuild RBs everyone should target

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Rebuild RBs everyone should target

Postby bot » Wed Oct 15, 2014 4:53 pm

Curious who everyone thinks are some RBs teams in rebuild should be targeting. Obviously there are the guys like Hyde, Michael, etc. But what about some veteran Rbs, like Ingram? Who are you guys liking and what do you think they are "gettable" for in terms of picks?

I just picked up Crowell and Sankey and I am very pleased with it. I have Khiry Robinson as well who may work out depending on the situation next year or Ingram staying healthy.

Convention wisdom around these parts seems to be that you don't really target RBs in a rebuild. They're too volatile, and too easily injured. So depending on how far out you're aiming to be competitive, you pretty much want talented 2nd year RBs, promising rookies, or picks for the draft. Undervalued veterans have a lot of value, just not very much over a 2-3 year time horizon.

I like McKinnon, sims, Carey, gaffney, Andre Williams and other guys in that category. You get the picture. Rookie rb2s

Ya in a rebuild you trade your RBs that get any hype because in reality by the time you are ready to compete that Rb may be gonzo.

very difficult to give a value for trades as dependent on your league size, what the owner you are dealing with wants/needs, etc.

short answer is trade away current players who won't have value in 2-3 years to get a player who is ascending and may be 1-2 years away.

Also stockpiling draft picks never hurts. You never know who may fall to you in 2nd or 3rd round.

short answer, trade success and points now for youth and potential.

Crowell, Devonte Freeman, Alfred Blue, James White, McKinnon (wait til this week since Zimmer said will cut down his snaps, so value will be less in 10 days) just to name a few

Also go after WRs who may be year away from breakout or are breaking out. Justin Hunter types.

Good luck!
