WR Potential

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

WR Potential

How long do you give a Rookie WR before he should be dropped in your league? Players like Moncrief, Da'Rick Rogers, and Paul Richardson

Middle/End of year 2 if they haven't moved up the depth chart they are gone

Moncrief - mid 3rd year - he was the youngest player in the entire NFL draft, and has a ton of upside, but will need to learn and grow into the player he can become
Rogers - if he doesn't show flashes by end of this year he's droppable
Richardson - I don't know what to say about him - he is a speedy deep threat receiver on a run-focused team. His potential will inherently be stunted. If he consistently catches 65 passes and scores a half dozen TDs per year, I think that is all you can hope for. If you don't see these kind of numbers by end of 2nd season then I'd dump him

good luck

Yeah, 2-3 years is about the range - in my league anyway. I imagine you wait longer in larger leagues, but that's just a reasonable guess.

I go with the 3 year rule. If they haven't produced, or at least shown flashes/given a chance to start by year 3, I dump them. It's takes time for a WR (in almost all cases) to get acclimated to the NFL.

2-3 years is about right. There are a lot of determining factors. League size, roster size, how "raw" or "pro ready" the prospect is, his coach's likeliness to play young players and where he starts out on the depth chart are all things to take into consideration. That's before you even begin to equate how he's progressed since being in the league.
