Rebuilding - Need help on this trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Rebuilding - Need help on this trade

Postby Novacane » Fri Jun 06, 2014 4:52 pm

Inherited Team 2 in my signature block and am in full rebuild mode. I have picks 1.4, 1.7, 1.10 and 2.1. Was offered Ryan matthews, danny woodhead and 2015 2nd round pick in exchange for pick 1.7. Not a lot of faith in Matthews but the 2nd rounder next year seems to soften the blow of the 1.7 this year and i could use his points as you can see. But i am leaning still leaning towards declining. Am i Crazy? Thoughts on the trade?

That's not a good deal for you at all. If you are in rebuild mode, you are trying to rid yourself of guys like Mathews and Woodhead. Between injuries, age, and SD drafting a RB...I wouldn't trade for these guys. And obtaining a 2015 2nd doesn't offset the loss of the 1.7. I would decline with a message to "come back with a serious offer" because you are rebuilding.

Picks and YOUNG prospects are your targets. Not old, injury prone RBs.

And by the way, picks are at their highest value closer to the draft.

Fully agree with the above. Don't trade for a pair of aging RBs when you are in rebuild mode.
