Is my team M Lynch away from being competitive

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Is my team M Lynch away from being competitive

Postby Purple Pride » Sat Jan 25, 2014 5:34 pm

a guy in my league is asking if I would trade my 1.05 pick and Benny Cunningham for M. Lynch.

1. Is that a good offer for M. Lynch?
2. How many years does M. Lynch have left?
3. If I do the trade do you think it will make my team competitive enough next year to make a run? (I think I need more time to develop)

See my team in sig.

Thanks,

Accept quickly. Cunningham is a back up and 5th overall is a crapshoot. I must be missing something. You would be a legit contender in 2014 and 2015.

Trading for lynch is tricky. He's gonna go to Larry Johnson / Shaun Alexander route where he suddenly starts sucking. Very hard to forecast when but it's gonna be sudden.

Yeah Lynch makes me a little nervous, I feel like if I take him now it would be at his peak value and he will just drop off from now.

Since I took over this orphan team I have been trying to build a young core group of guys. I think I am close to finally being competitive. I just need some RB's. If Tate finds a spot then I feel like I am one RB sort. So it is tempting to take Lynch now. If I knew that I could get 2-3 years more of production out of him I would be all for it, but I feel like what Space Cowboy is saying and that he will just drop in value quick in the next couple years.

Anyone else have some thought that they are willing to share?

Thanks,

I would think about that deal very hard because your rb situation is not a pretty picture. Almost all of them are back ups and Wilson may never play again.

I like the 1.05 better, but looking at your team its hard not to think about it. But your team is nice and young and I'd probably take a chance at a rookie rb

It's Lynch by a mile for me. I love rookie fever.

People who really think the Seahawks are going to let Lynch walk after this year are nuts. He's a focal point of their offense, they're going to load up and go for another run at the ship next year. Think they feel comfortable with a platoon of Turbin and Micheal? I don't

Have you shopped the 1.5 for any other RBs? It's not a bad offer but like everyone I'm worried about the cliff that Lynch is approaching.

If you are inclined to accept, I'd feel out what it takes to get Turbin and/or Christine Michael. Turbin will be cheap, Michael will be costly.

I have started shopping the 1.05 around to see what is out there. With Lynch I know he could be a great add for one or two years, but by looking at my team I'm not sure if I can make a run for the championship.

I was thinking about trying to trade Gronk for a RB and 1st rounder 2015 maybe.

I think moving Gronk is a very good idea. He's broken down yet still has a ton of value. I'd ask for two 1sts and a low end starter.

Terrible time to shop Gronk, this is as low as his value is going to get. Wait for him to come back next year, put up one or two big games, and then flip him.
