Need a RB and a WR

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Need a RB and a WR

Postby MrBalloonHands » Wed Dec 11, 2013 11:42 am

Hey guys, two questions,

Need a RB: Lamar Miller (please, no), Chris Ivory (@ Car's #1 rush D), or Montee Ball (I also start Knowshon)?

Need a WR: Jarrett Boykin (@ DAL), Kendall Wright (vs ARI), Dexter McCluster (@ OAK), Ace Sanders (vs BUF), or Da'Rick (vs HOU)?

Team (except for McCluster and Ace) in sig.

Thanks,

MBH

I wouldn't use Ball b/c I think SD will score enough to keep it interesting. If Lamar Miller plays I think you have to weight out Daniel Thomas getting touches but also how bad NE's rush defense has been. Ivory is likely to get the most touches but has the toughest matchup. At WR, I would use Kendall Wright if it is PPR and if not I would probably go with Da'Rick b/c he only needs one big play and Houston's defense has been bad.

The other thing you can consider is Todman IF, and only IF, MJD doesn't play since Buffalo does not have a great rushing defense as they have given up 4 straight games of over 100 rushing yards and 6 rushing TDs in that time frame. And Todman will dominate the touches and is a competent pass catcher as well. If MJD doesn't play I like Todman over Miller, Ivory, or Ball.

Anyone else share this opinion?

I like that. Is MJD doubtful this week? that would be huge.

Thanks again.

Well MJD came up lame with a hamstring...he is questionable now and won't practice until Friday so the situation bears monitoring, but you should know by Sunday and it is in the 1st Round of games so you will know by kickoff.

I'd play Ball and Boykin. Wright will probably get Patrick Peterson's coverage and while I love D. Rodgers and think he will go off , he's unproven and I wouldn't want to chance it in the play offs.

I always look at lineup decisions based on who I'm playing and if I'm favored and by how much. By that I mean I decide if I need safe plays or if I'm going to need to hit home runs to win. For example, if you're matchup is against the team that has scored the most point all year then you probably need a potential home run guys - Ball (could easily score two goal line TDs any game) and Da'Rick (could easily go off again as he will be on the field). If I just need safe bets for extra points, relying on my other core players, then I would play Miller who you know will get you 5-10pts and Wright who will probably be good for the same.
