Tony Gonzales is my starting tight end for the rest of the year but I have the opportunity to upgrade backup for the future in waivers tonight. Both Kyle Rudolf and Fauria (DET TE) are available. Rudolf attracts me more cuz I know he is a legitimate difference making talent and presumable there will be a new QB (or a new improved Freeman) next year but this Detroit TE was something this weekend. He does have Stafford throwing and calvin to take off coverage but he has about 7 catches. Who has more future value?

If that doesn't say it all I'm not sure what does. I like Fauria too but there's no way I'd drop Rudolph to pick him up if I had that choice to make.
