I can now take whoever I want at 1.2.

I have seen a million posts on this, but I think I am going with Blackmon at 1.2 over Martin.

I have made the mistake of drafting landing spot over talent in the past. I am so torn.

I think I'd go Martin here too.

Martin is talented in his own right and it's not as if Blackmon is the next coming of Julio Jones or Calvin Johnson.

It's not so much that you're drafting situation over talent here - you're drafting need versus want.

You need a RB. Having 3 RBs from New Orleans is not good....

I wanted to have my choice at 2. This way I know I don't have to take Luck at 2, that he will be there at 4.

I want to take Blackmon, I have wanted him since the first time I saw him play. I think Martin is the smarter play for my team, but if draft was today I would take Blackmon.

Just like to get others input.

We are giving you input! We all think that you should change your mind before your draft starts and that you should take Doug Martin. You should take care of your running back situation. I rather the look of your squad when you add Luck and Martin than if you took Blackmon and Luck.

Easy decision if you ask me!

Agree with this. Not sure exactly why you're positive that Luck would fall to you at 1.4 but Blackmon wouldn't. What is the 1.3 going to do and how do you know that?

Overall though I think that you should go Luck with your 1.2 because once you get T-Rich I think a young QB is your most pressing need. Then you get either Martin or Blackmon depending on who falls.

Lol yes! I would too! It should have been 1.3 for 1.4 and 2.9...promising picks to not take a player is a gray area. Anyway, I agree with the others. Martin IS talented. This is the case of a talented player going to a great situation.

I agree trading a pick for a promise is a bad idea. Either trade up to 1.3 so you can definitely get Luck or take him 1.2. Martin is a very good player in a good situation, so you wouldn't just be drafting for situation. Does the 1.3 guy even like Blackmon? If not you could take Luck 1.2 and still get your guy at 1.4 without any questionable "promise" deals. If possible I would rethink making that move.

YES.

We can do that in our league. He was going to take Blackmon at 1.3. Now I know that Luck will be there at 1.4 100%

This way I have control over who I get Martin or Blackmon. Since everyone here has said Martin, I know where I stand. Today's arrest doesn't help Blackmon either.
