Trade for swift?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade for swift?

Postby Konehead94 » Sat Jan 22, 2022 3:47 pm

12 Team Full PPR SF

I am in a pretty heavy rebuild right now, and have the 1.01 this year plus 3 first round next year. Wondering if it’s worth it to move one of my 23 first plus a 24 first for swift? My current notable Rbs are Javonte Williams, Cam Akers, Devin Singletary, and AJ Dillon
Qb: Dak, Tua, Deshaun Watson, Daniel Jones , heinecke

Rb: Saquon, Gibson, mostert, rojo, chase Edmonds,
Lynn Bowden, Michael Carter

Wr: Amari Cooper, Thielen, Keenan Allen, diontae Johnson, Robert woods, , Anthony Miller

TE: Fant, Herndon, Allie-Cox

With having all the other picks this year, I would lean holding here despite the decent value. I would want to hold my future picks in a rebuild.

Gator is right. Use those picks to build up your other positions then make a move for a rb when the other positions are set as RB’s shelf life is so short those should be the last pieces you add to your puzzle once the other pieces are in place
Qb: Hurts, geno Smith
Rb: JT, Gibbs, Montgomery, Roschon, Z. White, Ty Chandler
Wr: AJB, JJ, Chase, waddle, G Wilson
TE: Pitts, Kincaid, Likely, Njoku

2024 1.01, 1.04, 1.05
10 team
9 players kept yearly
Non PPR
Not super flex
Start 1/1/2/1/2 flex
1 point per first down
All tds 6 points

Agreed. As much as I like Swift, I don't think it's the best move for your situation. Hold your picks.

Hold as well. Its not like you are hurting at RB and Detroit running backs are always a risky proposition. In 65 years there was Billy Simms for 3 years and Barry Sanders. The rest have been total duds.

I think this is a slam dunk price to pay for swift. I think that unless you are absolutely barron at all other positions, there is no reason to turn down that price for swift. You still have the 1.1 and 2 firsts next year. In my experience it's never the best play to stack up a bunch of 1sts and draft them all. If you have a chance to pounce on a 1st round start up rb, one of the best pass catching backs in the league in a full ppr, then I'm doing it for that price all day if possible. Would help a lot to know the rest of your roster, but it's much easier to fill in a lineup or play matchups with less-than-elite WRs in a PPR league.

I'd be hesitant to trade the 23 1st if it looked top 3 or 4, but if your roster has a couple competent QBs I'd probably be tempted.

Nope. I have Swift, but I would not move a 23 first plus 24 first in a rebuild. Guy can't stay on the field. He's not a 3 down back. He's going to end up a COP/3rd down back. Or, just not playing. BTW, do you have to pay for those firsts you trade? Sure hope so. Not many leagues I know that let trading that far out, and if they don't charge you to trade them, no offense, but that's bush league.

I know its heresy to throw shade on Swift in here, but that is my observation as well. RB2 is how I view him, maybe low end one in a full PPF league is his ceiling only if he stays healthy which he does not seem to do.

Honestly, I think the four RBs you have are as decent of a risk as Swift for the future. Swift's ceiling might be higher, but SO much has to go right for him to achieve it. I don't think two 1st rounders are worth it.
12 teams, 6pts all TDs, 1/2 pt PPR. 1QB, 1RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K, 1D, 2 FLEX RB/WR/TE

QBs - P Mahomes,
RBs - Bijan, J Jacobs, K Walker, B Hall,
WRs - AJ Brown, J Waddle, DJ Moore, T Higgins, D London, Smith-Njigba, J Downs, AT Perry
TEs - D Kincaid, Musgrave
Ks - Boswell, McPherson
Ds - Texans, Jets

2024 - 3 1st rounders... Picks 1.5, 1.7, 1.11… 1 2nd 2.17… 1 3rd 3.31…
