What to trade for Deshaun Watson in 1QB?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

What to trade for Deshaun Watson in 1QB?

Postby dondickenson » Fri Jan 21, 2022 12:13 pm

Have a win now roster but a lot of young pieces too, so looking to build for the future while staying competitive now. But my only QBs are Brady and Cousins. I’m targeting Watson. Watson owner needs RB really on his win now roster, he is stacked at QB and WR and has Kelce at TE followed by nothing.

Trade assets are:
Pollard, RoJo, Gaskin
Irv Smith, Higbee
2022 3.06, 3.10
2023 3

What would you offer for Watson from that in 1QB?

At this point with a Watson manager holding this long, I do not see anything in your listed assets that will land Watson even in a 1 QB format. If that manager is a HUGE believer in Pollard, maybe but I doubt it. Seems like at this point many believe Watson will be back and he is being held where he was when he last played.

None of the assets you listed jump off the page to land Watson unless the owner is just done with him...for the most part though if they have held this long they are going to wait and see if he plays and not take a cheap offer. If he's on the field he has the potential to be a top 5-7 QB. Obviously nobody in their right mind is going to pay that much but it's also hard to sell that much potential for pennies.

Of that collection of players/picks Pollard is the most attractive. Start with offering him straight up for Watson and see what the other owner comes back with.

Other owner has Zeke as his only real RB. Has Herbert, Dak, and Mac Jones at QB aside from Watson.

Two of your RBs in a package is a decent deal

As someone who has Brady and Watson in 1qb, and have been holding him this entire time, I would need original full price to move him. Which means I'm most likely continuing to hold for now. I wouldn't really be interested in anything there.

You can try offering all of that for Watson, but I'd decline it easily. You'll need to offer something meaningful nat this point.

I'd try to unload Gaskin plus whatever else it would take. If he has zeke then he definitely should have interest in pollard as mentioned. With his QBs, I don't see how he declines an offer of Pollard and Gaskin if he needs rb badly. Would have no problem adding on one of those thirds as well, and really whatever it takes of your trade asset list there. All of those pieces are short term pieces in my humble opinion and the sooner you can then this deal done the better (off season will likely diminish a few of their values).
