Team Direction Advice

Postby RunCMC87 » Thu Jan 20, 2022 3:21 pm

Have the 1.02 and 1.03 and have been talking to the Eli Mitchell owner and have him thinking about :

Give : 1.03 and 23 2nd Mid (likely)
Get : E. Mitchell and 23 Mid-late 1st (likely)

Thinking I’d rather have Mitchell (over whom ever that I would take 1.03) and then another 23 1st for next year to take advantage of the hype etc.

Should I wait for closer to the draft or try and nail this down now if possible? Since Mitchell is still playing worry he may blow up or owner decides none of these top prospects are won’t either.

Also, for my team in signature, been contemplating sending Pittman Jr to another owner for Josh Jacobs.

Would give me three 23 yr old RBs (Dobbins, Jacobs, Mitchell) to build upon or use to upgrade with other assets because these WRs are like a mirage. I can see the possibilities but seems a few years away with Lamb, Higgins and Jeudy all only being 22 yrs old and needing some changes to offenses etc.

2021 Elijah Mitchell
2020 Jeffery Wilson
2019 Raheem Mostert
2018 Matt Breida
2017 Carlos Hyde

I can only strongly recommend you do not trade 1.03 for Elijah Mitchell. I see this kind of talk every year for a 49ers RB. All the reasons why this time its different. What I can say is let someone else roll those dice and get a nice rookie RB on a team who drafts him early to be their guy. Seriously just no.

(Mitchell has the worst ypc of every rushing leader by year listed above btw)

I would hold your pick here as well. It's too early in the offseason process to move an early 1st outside of a crazy overpay and Mitchell does carry risk fair or not based on the San Francisco track record at RB in recent years. Mitchell has looked solid and I would think he gets plenty of run next year but I would want to see how the combine and NFL draft plays out also.
