Mayfield SF trade completed. Thoughts?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Mayfield SF trade completed. Thoughts?

Postby fantasydem » Wed Jan 19, 2022 10:46 pm

Team 3 in my signature.. I won our leagues past championship, received an offer of my 2023 1st for Mayfield & Melvin Gordon. Did I sell my 1st too prematurely? I’m a full believer bakers value is at the lowest point and he’ll bounce back next season but I know alot of others feel differently & then Gordon should be able to produce for another year or two whether on the broncos or another team. Curious to hear your guys’ thoughts, thanks!

I would have held the 1st here but I am unsure on Mayfield long term and Gordon could easily slow down. You are betting the other way which could also happen. Time will tell and hopefully Mayfield bounces back.

I'll go the other way...you needed a QB2...Wentz isn't the answer....so not a terrible deal as finding starting QB's in SF is expensive.....and w no starters coming in the draft.....worth a shot.

I understand why you did it, but I would prefer the pick here by a decent margin. I’m not sure Baker is the long-term answer in Cleveland, and Melvin likely has a year or two of being a low-end RB2 at best. But, this trade could still help you next year so it may end up working out.
