2022 1.02 trade for 2023 1st and 2022 2nd?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

2022 1.02 trade for 2023 1st and 2022 2nd?

Postby Blumpy » Tue Jan 18, 2022 12:13 pm

Team 1 in sig. SF 10 teamer so allstar rosters
Completing a rebuild.
Have the 1.02, 1.03 in 2022 and 3 2023 1sts (likely 1 early, 1 mid, 1 late).

Offered a 2023 1st (likely mid) and 2022 2.2 for 2022 1.02

Take this? I don't really have any gaping needs at present.

I guess the question is what is the 1.02 worth in 2023 picks?

Thanks

I would take the trade. I think 4 1st rnd picks next year is to much because you end up carrying to much rookie talent all at once without getting to see how they develop before cutting down your roster. That being said as hyped as 23 is already you could easily deal 1 next year when the frenzy is really peeking and next multiples for 24. To me looking out 2 years is how you maintain a winning Dynasty season to season in fantasy.

I like the 2023 class too, but I'm not making this deal. The 1.02 should appreciate in value as the offseason goes on, and I never like the idea of moving an early first for anything less than 2 firsts in a future class.

x2 - we are too early in the offseason process to move an early 1st.

I think if you wait until after the NFL draft, the 1.02 will be worth more than your return now.

A random 1st? I would wait, especially if it looks like that 1st will be later. The 1.02 should net another 1st in 2022, albeit later, along with that 2023 pick. You may not have immediate needs, but someone in your league will come time for your draft. If not, take the top two rookies available and trade from a position of strength later.

Agree with the above. I think you trading the pick could definitely be the right call. But I also think you can get a better package than that for it if you wait. I know people love to hate this class, but there is no vaccine for rookie fever. Someone will get the itch.
