Is this enough?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Is this enough?

Postby sloth8u » Sat Jan 15, 2022 9:13 am

Received an offer of dobbins and ceh for my Taylor. It's a must start 1rb 14 teamer. Contemplating accepting, but would like a little more in return to give up Taylor. How do you feel about selling him for the 2 rbs and 1 of devonta smith or diontae Johnson? Rojo and penny are my only other rbs worth mentioning. Tia

I am going to be in the vast minority here, but unless I got Smith or Johnson I would not make this deal. I am not a fan of either CEH (anymore) or Dobbins. People in this site seem to be head over heel about Dobbins. I think he plays on a team that has always and will always use a RBBC. Jackson is the alfa. Edwards vultures the red zone carries and Dobbins has not bee that special when he plays, not bad, but not "oh wow, I need to get that guy." either.

In a start one, it makes the decision even easier.
Team 1: 16 Team
QB's: Fields, Wentz,

Team 2: 12 Team SF 1ppr, Start 10
QB: Mahomes, Burrow, Watson
RB: Hall, Walker, Javonte, Pacheco, K Mitchell, Dobbins
WR: Godwin, JSN, Pittman, Pickens, Toney, DP Jones, S Moore
TE: Andrews, Fant, Likely
(2024) 1.03, 2.03, 3.03
(2025) Top 3 1st, my 1st

Team 3 SF, TEP, Start 11 ppr

Dobbins + CEH + Smith has nice upside but only one piece in the deal seems safe but Smith also needs a QB. I would hold Taylor here because CEH seems very risky moving forward despite the added depth in a 14 teamer.

I'd be tempted by a deal of Taylor for Dobbins, CEH, and Diontae. But anything short of that is a pass.

I’m holding JT over even Dobbins, CEH(who I value pretty low), and Smith there. It would need to be a WR I was more excited about to make that deal. And likely a different RB than CEH.

Easy pass, keep Taylor. If it’s not a “blow your mind” offer for JT, then it’s a no.

I'm keeping JT in all three scenarios. I'm extremely high on JT, neutral on CEH Devonta and Dobbins, and lower on DJ than most. In a 14-team league it would take a HUGE overpay for me to move a difference-maker like JT.

In bigger leagues, the value of those kinds of outliers is heightened. Depth matters, but having a couple of superstuds like JT puts you in playoff contention almost by himself, assuming the rest of your roster is decent.
