Time to break up the band? Dynasty break up or hold?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Time to break up the band? Dynasty break up or hold?

Postby Horn1 » Thu Jan 13, 2022 4:43 pm

I won 2nd last year & 3rd this season. IDP is a factor, but I just want to analyze my offensive core group.

Here's my core roster:

Tom Brady (trade bait)
Matt Stafford
Jalen Hurts

Deandre Swift
Antonio Gibson
Damien Harris (trade bait)
Sony Michel (trade bait)
Travis Etienne

Davante Adams (trade bait????)
Diontae Johnson (trade bait)
Darnell Mooney
Van Jefferson

Darren Waller (trade bait)
Dalton Schultz

Is it time to sell high on Adams?

I'm definitely going to try to sell Brady, Waller, Michel & Harris...maybe even Diontae Johnson.

We start 5 flex at offense.
12 man league

Half PPR, Start: 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1TE, 2 Flex
1 K, 4 IDP

QB: Herbert, Baker

RB: Bijon R, Javonte W, D Swift, K Miller, Allgeire

WR: Waddle, Pittman, Ridley, Diontae J, G. Pickens, Jeudy, K Shakir, C Samuel

TE: Goedert

IDP (start 4): Oluokun, Kayvon T, Will Anderson

'24 Picks: All intact...1.05, 2.05, etc

I think you are doing the right thing by shopping your assets league wide if you are looking to rebuild. If the values and offers are not there, you hold and hope for a title next year or better offers in season. It never hurts to shop in the offseason and see if rebuilding or retooling is the way to go. You have some valuable assets that could really help jump start a rebuild and if it helps now and long term, I think its worth it. Again, no need to force anything but tis the season to shop and see where values are both on your roster and league wide. I'm in the same boat coming out of this year. I have a good team but also some aging talent and my team could be in a rough spot coming out of 2022 without a title. I'm starting the shopping a year early. Good luck!

Format is a pretty important piece to provide accurate assessment. It looks like you finished well despite injury issues throughout your RB corps. It appears you’d have a good shot at the title again next year with better health in that dept.

It doesn’t hurt to explore offers this offseason, but don’t go half way. If you get a great offer for Adams in particular, I’d move all older assets for a mini rebuild. Brady might net you a pick from a QB-starved competitor, but he’s also a hold on a SF team looking for the title. Otherwise, this looks like a “hold and compete” roster to me.
