Chubb for Javonte straight up

Team 1 in sig. I took Chase and Pitts last year at 1.02 and 1.04. Javonte went 1.03, so I was never going to have a shot at him cause i had him lower than Chase and Pitts. That said, I think he's an absolute stud. Finally got the owner to work a deal with me. Chubb for Javonte straight up. I was willing to add Rondale or Bateman, but he took my initial offer. I think it's a move that makes my team better for the next 2-4 years, but I may lose a little value next season depending on what Denver does with Gordon. Regardless, Chubb is 26 and Javonte is 21. Javonte was more active in the passing game and I think he's got tremendous upside. Thoughts? Was this deal on the cheap, an overpay, or about the right price?

You are in a nice position here. Your roster is filled with young studs so you can afford to ride Chubb off the cliff. That said, you can also afford to cash out BEFORE Chubb hits the cliff. But given your thin (especially in 10 team!!) starting requirements, I'd first try to consolidate Chubb+ into an elite asset. As it stands now, Akers, Dobbins, Barkley, Mitchell will all be on your bench. Javonte would likely join them.

Chubb is the much safer option for week to week production we we stand right now. With the hype surrounding Williams, I think the value is close but I still think Chubb gives you the best option to win. We still don't know if Gordon will be back in Denver and/or if Denver brings in another back for an ugly RBBC like this year.

Think I’d rather have javonte tbh. If the JW owner came to me for Chubb I’d be thrilled and try to get something on top but JW for sure.

I think I would prefer to hold based on your roster, Javonte would be great bench strength, but Chubb is pretty darn consistently great

Javonte. It's closer if you're looking only at 2022 production. But looking at a 2-4 year window, and considering your roster, I prefer Javonte.

I think I like Chubb better and he probably has less wear and tear on him then most 26 year olds because of his RBBC with Hunt.

That being said, fortune favors the bold and Chubb is near the cliff at least. Its tough giving up a high end RB1 for an up and comer, but thats how you stay number one in FF is taking some smart calculated risks.

I think you overpaid here a bit. It's not horrible considering you bought back the years, but you are really hoping that Denver doesn't bring in another back or resign Gordon to split carries.

Chubb is likely the safer option for the next 1-2 years.

While I think this is a fair trade, team situation plays a big factor into making the trade. You've got a roster full of "potential studs". Kamara is the only player who is reliable, aside from Chubb. Swift and Mitchell both showed up this year, when they were healthy. JK and Akers have such high ceilings, but again... injuries. Saquan, while anointed a stud, hasn't been a RB5 since his rookie season (I think). Penny just started showing up. I'd put Javonte in the same category as Swift and Mitchell.

Having said this, if you trade away Chubb, you're left with Kamara and a bench of "let's see who's healthy" and no one that's shown consistency for more than one season.

I'd hold Kamara and Chubb and hope that most if not all of your young "potential studs" pan out to be consistent. You've got a team that can win for several years, even without Javonte.

For the record... I'm a believer in Javonte, Swift, JK, and Akers... I have all of them on several teams.

Thanks for all the input here everyone. It seems to be a bit of a polarizing trade. I made the deal for Javonte. I just prefer his youth and upside. Having watched him this year, I was so impressed with his ability in the passing game and he's just a beast running the ball. If rather trade Chubb a year to early for a young upside RB vs selling lower a year to late.
