SF QB trade advice

Postby zaner75 » Sat Dec 04, 2021 9:04 am

14 team SF
There's a manager that severely undervalues QBs. He's been open in the league chat about offering a 2023 2nd round pick for Trevor Lawrence and not understanding why it was declined but being happy that it was. Lol.
He made the same offer (2023 2nd) to me for Trey Lance, which I think he forgot about, because he's approached me again offering a 3rd, and now, best offer, the 2nd again. He genuinely thinks that is a fair offer.
He has Zach Wilson and after he approached me with the offer of a 3rd for Lance, I sent an offer for Wilson. He responded that he needs Wilson if he gets deep into the playoffs.
I'm thinking that I can likely get Wilson after his season is over for cheap (one, maybe two 2022 3rds). Is that something that is worth pursuing? Wilson hasn't shown much to indicate a bright future but I feel the EV play is to do it because the price may be so low for a young QB with at least another 2 years of insulation. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Yup if you can get any kinds young starting qb with upside for a 2nd in sf you take it. Normally your getting a teddy or heinicke. Starting but no security and not a ton of upside for a 2nd

Yes, if you can get Wilson for multiple 3rds, it is a great deal for you. I would have zero second thoughts.

I'd grab Wilson for two 2nds if I could. Two 3rds is a no brainer.

Thanks for the responses.
Update:
Acquired Wilson for a 2022 2nd (likely 2.04 or 2.05). Maybe could've haggled and offered the 2 3rds (3.01 + 3.06-3.08) but called the other owner out on his valuations by challenging him to accept a better deal that what he was offering (although I still think a single 2nd is light and a positive EV move for me).

This is still a great deal in the format, nice work.

You weren't lying when you said he undervalues the QB position! Nice deal for you. Even if Wilson doesn't pan out in the long run he'll be fantasy relevant for a few years.
