Mac Jones worth investing in?

Is Mac Jones worth going after in a 1qb league as a solid backup? I had to use Big Ben this week as a spot start and Ryan is completely worthless so that got me thinking about what if’s with the playoffs coming up. Jones seems to have organizational support so I feel like he could provide some stability going forward as well. Currently being offered V. Jefferson and a late 3rd.

I prefer Jones to Jefferson and a 3rd even in a 1 QB format. He has the highest ceiling in the deal.

Low ceiling but I wouldn’t sell for that at this point I’d need a top 12 pick

I like investing in Mac Jones. Once he landed with the pats he jumped up some spots for me. I think it's the perfect spot for him. He's being asked to do more than any of the other rookie QBs in terms of presnap reads and adjustments and he has the benefit of having a very good defense on the other side of the ball.

He's likely always going to suffer from a lack of offensive weapons as the pats MO has been to not invest high picks in those skill positions often and to miss when they do.

But, with increases to salary caps coming again and Jones on a rookie contract they may bring in some FA wrs.


It's easy to say he's the best Tom Brady or to compare Jones future to TBs but it's unreasonable to assume that Jones will have the same career. What I will say is that I think Jones can be a fantasy QB1. He may not have big boom games but I think he'll be a consistent QB for years to come.

I took him in the 6th or 7th round of my only 1qb leagues rookie draft and he had not started for me all year, I'm just holding him for now.

I like Van jefferson - don’t think it’s worth giving up nice young WR for back up QB. I like Mac Jones but NE never has weapons like that and Mac ceiling low for FF
