Getting blasted on Twitter for these trades

Team 2:
I made a post last night about some trade negotiations in a contender. I pulled off two trades that I’m happy with. I rarely listen or care about what Twitter verse thinks but they’re blasting me in the polls.

What do you think?

Trade 1: I got Godwin. I sent D Smith and 23 1st (proj late)
Trade 2: I got Conner. I sent 23 1st (proj late)

Both will solidify my flex and added depth

Trade 1 - as good as Smith looks, Godwin is a borderline elite WR. I like the deal.
Trade 2 - helps you this year but could certainly not age well. As a contender, I get it but the value is with the 1st long term. Hopefully Conner gets another shot somewhere next year.

That’s how I feel. If I get the ship, then giving up some future assets is totally worth it.
Giving up on D Smith does hurt but the age difference is only 2 years and Godwin has shown he’s elite.

Conner signed a prove it deal and he is proving it. I believe he’ll be resigned long term. Good trade on both accounts.

Trade #1 is a toss up for me. There are a lot of unknowns for the future production, but for this year give me Godwin. Future value is going to depend heavily on the Philly QB and where Godwin ends up.

I agree 100%. I wouldn’t have traded Smith away if I didn’t do the Conner trade. The two I believe put me in the #1 contender.

Shortly after my trade another contender (there’s a big 3) traded a late 22 1st and Hubbard for CEH. I wanted to be the first one to grab some pieces so they didn’t get a chance

The Godwin trade is totally fine. He's great this year and I think the Bucs keep him and Evans together with Brady after this season as well.

JC is only 26 and the only thing that has ever held him back is injury. He now plays for a stellar organization that is terrific at running the football and he is playing amazingly. There's is zero reason to think he won't get the opportunity to keep this job next year and even beyond.

Your trades may not look amazing on paper but they will look fantastic where it counts - the boxscores and your lineup.

I agree 100%.
If they can give me the edge this year, why not give up some future assets to win? Twitter is so obsessed with “the future” and never look at “today” and trying to win. Two projected late 23 1sts are 50/50 lottery tickets at best
