D Henry on the block, help me get him

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

D Henry on the block, help me get him

Postby Trevormortis » Fri Oct 22, 2021 11:51 am

For team 2. I'm 5-1 (1st place so far) and looking to win my 3rd year in a row. Henry is on the block from a seriously injured team so he's looking past this year. I currently have Kamara, Ekeler, Mixon and MG3 so not really hurting at RB, but always looking to improve. I also might be able to trade one of the 3 current RB's (Mixon preferably) for a top QB, possibly Mahomes. QB is my weakest link.

My initial offer was my 2022 1st and 2nd, 2023 1st, and a solid bench player like T Higgins/R Moore/R Bateman, etc.

He seems to want Mixon though and wanted both firsts as well (taking out the 2nd round pick). So that would be my 2022 1st, 2023 1st and Mixon. This seems to be too much (about the equivalent of 4 or more 1sts, give or take).

Is there something I'm missing to try and get this done. Should I add my 2023 2nd on top of my initial offer (which would then be my 2022 1st and 2nd, 2023 1st and 2nd, and a Higgins type player). But now this starts looking like an overpay.

It seems like our values for Henry are too far apart, but I can't see how anyone would offer more than I currently am.

I'm not trying to rip anyone off, just trying to find a fair offer that we both can go for.

Thoughts appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you are all in, I mean all in on a title run this year, Henry gives you a better shot at a title then Mixon + the two 1sts. I agree that the price is steep but if that is the only way to land Henry and you want the best chance a winning, Henry is the way to go. If it's too steep long term, I understand that as well and Mixon still gives you a chance to contend too. Its all about how hard you want to go at the run. The two 1sts and Higgins is a solid offer but if its not going to get it done, you know what can.

This. Word for word.

Also, from the other guy's perspective, your team is 5-1 and with Henry will likely have 1.11 or 1.12 in 2022, and as low or nearly as low for 2023. Getting a 1.12 and a 1.10 and Higgins for Henry is a low price. From that aspect, getting Mixon+1.12+1.10 is also relatively low. Saying "two 1st" sounds like a lot more than saying "1.12 and 1.10".

Gator, why are you always so wise! Making me see things I don't want to see, lol. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do but thanks for putting things in perspective for me.

I guess my only hesitation is whenever I make a big purchase, the player I get almost always gets hut like a game or 2 later. Happened with CMC last year for team 1, MG3 when he was actually putting up a ton of points back with the chargers, and Aaron Rogers years ago when he broke his collarbone.

Ha ha, happy to try and help! I have a similar issue of not wanting to see what I need to trade for a TE as contender. Others here are the voice of reason too. Its always a bit easier to give advice when its not your team.

Man I wish people gave DHenry the respect he deserves like both you and his current manager. Yeah, he’s worth A LOT and has proven himself to be otherworldly.

This makes your team solid and still have longevity from the gains going into next year and beyond.

I have Henry in one league and best I’ve gotten from suitors is a single random late 1st…get out of my face with that
