Hey guys. Hope all is well.
So I feel like I'm getting towards the end of a rebuild. I've got a solid core of multiple young WRs, a top three QB, and two or more upside TEs. I built around young WRs who had high draft capital because WRs typically hold their value for a longer period of time, but I also understand at some point I'm going to need quality RBs
I've been thinking about making a move and acquire a top end RB like Harris/JT/Barkley..
Would something like Metcalf for Najee Harris & Corey Davis be a wise move? (This owner also has Saquon Barkley)
(I'm a Cowboys fan so I'd prefer to keep Lamb if possible)
I'm 3-3 on the year with clearly a big need at RB.
1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX
Roster:
QB Justin Herbert
QB Zach Wilson
QB Jordan Love
RB Damien Harris
RB Sony Michel
RB Rhamondre Stevenson
RB Alex Collins
RB Darrynton Evans
RB Ke'Shawn Vaughn
RB Jeremy McNichols
RB Brandon Bolden
RB Gary Brightwell
RB Tevin Coleman
WR DK Metcalf
WR Ceedee Lamb
WR Jerry Jeudy
WR Terrace Marshall
WR Mecole Hardman
WR Jakobi Meyers
WR Tim Patrick
WR Kalif Raymond
WR Nick Westbrook
WR N'Keal Harry
TE Pat Freiermuth
TE Mike Gesicki
TE Dalton Schultz
TE Adam Trautman
TE Hunter Long
I own all of my own 2022 & 2023 picks (except my 2022 3rd, but I have another team's 3rd
I bolded players that are a part of my core right now
If I moved Metcalf, I'd still have Lamb, Jeudy, Hardman & Marshall to play with..

Re: Make a Big Move For a RB To Balance Team?
I personally would not make this move. Even adding a solid back does not shore up your RB room. I would keep your WR's intact and keep building and focus on RB over the next couple drafts. I would rather build around that WR core though than adding a RB now.

SMASH ACCEPT for me. Najee>Metcalf. Najee could quickly become the 1.01-1.04 range in dynasty startup next offseason. Getting Davis is gravy. Yes, I do it.
While it may not solve everyhole on your roster, getting a RB is not always easy like people think when you change from rebuild to competing. You can backfill Metcalf a lot easier than you can Najee. It also gives you flexibility in next year's rookie draft and you won't need to reach for a RB if you have a better option at WR.
