Chance to get Toney (revised offer Miles Sanders for Toney)

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Chance to get Toney (revised offer Miles Sanders for Toney)

Postby PBFalcon » Wed Oct 20, 2021 7:58 pm

Team and sig. 10 teamer. Non-ppr.

My biggest competitor just offered:
I give Miles Sanders, 2nd (early), 3rd (late)
I get Toney

He really needs a RB and if I make his team stronger it is probably only going to end up being the reason I don't win the championship.

I have kind of started collecting RBs, so most teams only 1 or 2 legit guys.

Toney looked good but this price seems high to me. I am a Sanders believer, And I don't mind waiting until his second contract.

Would you guys do this trade?
I was thinking about offering my two second rounders straight up for Toney, as a counter offer.

*****Update
After some negotiations. The offer is now I give Miles Sanders and I get Toney. Not sure how to proceed here....I don't really need either player.

I think Sanders is a mediocre RB asset but the price is high even with that belief. Sanders straight up might get it done for some. Sanders should still carry a late 1st value and some may value Toney around the same.

Take out the 2nd and get it done IFFFF you really like Toney and think he’ll be a WR1-2. Big if, I love toney but could see him either becoming an absolute maniac or bust.

Your team is stacked so I don’t see you losing much either way, just don’t add the 2nd.

Take out the 2nd and it's a pick'em. don't really care to pay an asset + a 2nd for either of those guys, i think their value is much closer than that deal would suggest

Well I decided I won't send him Sanders. So I counter offered my 2 2nds (one early and one late) for Toney.
Seems like a fair deal to me. Let's see what he says. I feel okay about it anyway it goes.

Interesting. I’m not sure I would trade Toney for the original Sanders deal. Interesting that everyone is that far in on Sanders still. I think he still has a shot to be productive, but Toney’s ceiling looks higher.

Sanders playing time is increasing and his schedule his getting better. But is his upside capped by Gainwell??
Toney had a good game. But looks like a hothead and eventually there will be other competition for targets.

Totally agree on sanders, he couldn’t convince the coaching staff to feed him over Howard, clement, Scott, now gainwell, etc. he’s been given the chance to be the guy and it’s apparent he’s not it. I don’t hear too many free miles sanders sentiments around for a reason.

So this is how if think most people who haven't actually followed Miles closely feel. But most of these points are just urban legends. Sanders actually played well over all of those guys you mentioned last year. He had a very high snap share and usage rate last year when healthy. The first game this year he dominated touches and playing time. Same thing with the last 2 games. Now, I will give you that those games sandwiched between were concerning regarding the usage of Gainwell.
I think you are making the point that he isn't actually talented. I also think you would be in the minority on that. Most things I read and listen to, are pining for Sanders to get more work. By most accounts he has been excellent this year when he has gotten the opportunity.
I don't doubt his talent, but I am concerned about the Eagles lack of running the ball. And also if Gainwell gets mixed in again then that will tank his value until he switches teams. Those are things he can't control.

I'd go Toney. Injuries worry me about him, but he's shown he belongs.

Unless I was desperate for RB id go Toney. He looks like a difference maker. Sanders isn't really a guy I'm comfortable starting unless Philly gets a new QB and new head coach in the near future.

What I’m saying is regardless of how anyone feels about him, the people that see his body is work every day seem to hate giving him a workload worthy of being a strong dynasty asset. To insinuate I’m not following sanders closely is false, there are just too many variables going against sanders to trust him or even buy in on him. I agree he deserves wore work but will he ever get it? Free Aaron Jones movement ringing bells? Just because dynasty managers feel a certain way doesn’t mean the real life professionals share the sentiment.
