Hubbard or stay put

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Hubbard or stay put

Postby Jintsfan66 » Sat Oct 16, 2021 2:37 pm

Fellas,

This is for the team in signature 1, we play doubleheaders every Sunday and somehow I am 8-2

Injuries have killed me with Thomas, Dobbins and now McCaffrey on IR

I received an offer to bolster my RBs, the offer was a 2022 #2 prolly top 5 and Hubbard for my Sermon and a 2022 #1. I know this looks lopsided in his favor and the calculators say too as well but wanted some feedback

Do I make this deal? or ride until or if McCaffrey comes back?

Look forward to the responses, this would be effective this week

thanks guys

Basically 2 2nds for sermon and a 1. I probably say no for just 1 first, let alone adding sermon

I would hold your side here. Seems very steep for a short term filler.

I can understand where he's coming from with this offer. He sees you as a contender, so he must treat the 1st as late. Sermon is in the doghouse, and who knows whether he'll ever be out; many people were skeptical of him as an NFL prospect. In his eyes, the difference b/w Chubba and Sermon is similar to that b/w late 1st and early 2nd. And I kinda agree with that.

This is where dynasty gets really interesting. It's about how well you know the two players (Sermon and Hubbard) and how you see their future. There's no right answer. But the offer is certainly not outrageous.

Holy crap don’t do this deal lol

I’ve been there, thinking even tho everything looks so lopsided that maybe it really isn’t… no, this is disrespectful to even be offered.

Smash reject and tell the owner they owe you a beer for even offering it!

I’m sorry, I honestly respect every opinion, but how, I mean how is this not outrageous? Unless you honestly believe CMC is completely and total done, this is insane. This offer is basically an R2 for an R1.

The OP is being preyed on by an owner that sees an opportunity due to injuries.

Edit: and if you go back about 5 weeks before rookie drafts when Sermon was an early R2 and Hubbard was an R3 it even sounds worse. That’s an R2+R3 for an R1+R2. Nothing in the first 5 weeks of this season grossly changes where Sermon and Hubbard were drafted.

I'm guessing he would swap Hubbard for sermon if you want it. I see no reason to think the picks get in the way.

I liked sermon going in, but that was in the 12-15 range. He seemed to be going much earlier. I think he was overdrafted by us. Still like him, but as a cmc owner...I'd be thinking this over.

This guy actually prefers Hubbard to Sermon. I am going to revisit this week being Hubbard had a mediocre game and see what I can do

thanks for the responses guys, this offer is still on table and now that McCaffrey on IR and rumblings that he might be out longer I am seriously torn on whether to make this deal with a overpay
