Enough to trade away Kelce?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Enough to trade away Kelce?

Postby Niceguy » Sat Sep 18, 2021 12:00 pm

I am in full rebuild mode and have 6 firsts, 4 thirds and 4 second rounders over the next two years.

My final piece to sell is Kelce.

Is this enough of a return in a 12 team superflex league?

I give: Kelce and 2022 2nd (belongs to my trading partner, would be trading it back to him in this deal)

I receive: Daniel Jones, Elijah Mitchell, 2023 1st
8 Team PPR: Start 2 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 2 RB/WR/TE, 1 K, 2 DL, 2 LB, 2 DB, 2 IDP Flex

This is basically Kelce for Daniel Jones and a 1st. The 8-team format seriously decreases the value of Jones (and increases the value of a stud like Kelce). I think you lose big in this trade.

I dont think this is good value for Kelce even in SF. Despite a decent start, I would not be buying Jones at this price.

It’s actually 12 teams. Don’t know if that changes your answer at all.

I like Jones, he’s not very good in real life but he has a sneaky floor/upside as a runner and I do think Mitchell carved out a role in the offense that can be valuable
in spot starts, I don’t think we anoint him as the next Ricky Watters just yet. I would look for another 1st round pick on top of the trade or a low end RB1/high end RB2. Kelce gives a rare positional advantage each week and I think that deserves a premium asking price. Wouldn’t do this trade as is.

On the second trade idea: only if the 1st is early, and even then I'm taking Kelce.

Both of those offers wouldn’t even entice me to make a counter offer, easy pass.

That is not good value at all for Kelce and I would hold him here or continue shopping him to other owners

1st offer....not close. wait for a better deal.
2nd...if you think the first is early, then I could see it being close. But...it is early to decide that...and if he is getting Kelce...he is going for it and I doubt is will be early

Kelce is a cheat code in fantasy. Awful deal for you here. You must be able to get better, as I assume there is a contender who doesn't have a top 4 TE if you do! See if you can get Hock + ?
Team 1: Superflex PPR. 35 keeper. 1 qb, 1 Superflex, 2 rb, 2wr, 4 flex, 1 te
QB: Rodgers, Allen, Lance, M.White, Bridgwater
RB: Fournette, Pollard, Chubb, Dillon, C-Patt, J.Cook, K.William, JRob
WR: Adams, Keenan Allen, Evans, Mooney, Juju, Corey Davis, G.Davis, Van Jefferson, Chark, Atwell
TE: Kelce, Waller, Tonyan, Brate, Taysom

Team 2. PPR. 14 teamer. 1qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 2 wr/rb, 1 wr/te 1 te, k, p, various IDP
QB: Hurts, Ryan, Watson
RB: Barkley, Mixon, CEH, Penny, Gibson, Hunt
Rhamondre
WR: Hill, Adams, Chase, Brown, Toney, Chark, Gage, Campbell, OBJ, Reagor, Mims, Marshall, Wandale, Bell,
TE: Kittle, Waller, Henry, Njoku

I'd want something more proven for Kelce. If your going full rebuild it's perfect selling him now. I'd be looking to deal him to any contender that doesn't have Kittle or Waller on their roster and build up a bit of a fight for him.
2015, 2017, 2022 Champ.

Look, and this is just true... Kelce may be the #1 biggest statistical advantage in all of fantasy due to his dominance and point differential at his position. He is not slowing down - see tonight - and has the longest active streak of 20+ PPR of any non QB player in all of fantasy. Not at TE. In all of fantasy.

You have to get a return for him that means something. This doesn't.

Please don't make this trade. You should be able to get MUCH more for Kelce. He's one of the most (maybe THE most) valuable assets in all of fantasy football, even in a SF.

It's not unrealistic to think that Jones and Mitchell will not even be starters in the NFL next season. Don't do this.
12 Team, 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, Flex, TE, DEF, K
QB: Joe Burrow, Justin Fields
RB: Najee Harris, Rhamondre Stevenson, Aaron Jones, James Conner, Jamaal Williams, Isiah Pacheco

TE: Dallas Goedert, Evan Engram
DST: Dallas Cowboys
K: Tyler Bass
