Win Now #2

Postby Never Veto1 » Thu Aug 19, 2021 11:10 am

12 Team Superflex TE Premium

Team:
QB - Rodgers, Stafford, Ryan, Hill
RB - Elliott, Gibson, Ekeler, Etienne, Connor, RJones, Cohen
WR - Golladay, Woods, Davis, MBrown, Edwards, Green, MWilliams, ESanders
TE - Kelce, Hock, JSmith, Arnold, Bryant
Picks 2022 - 2,2,3,3 ///// 2023 - 1,2,3,3

So I have a team that approached me suggesting Godwin or Moore for Hock. I'm a little hesitant to send off Hock since we can start more than one TE. I'm thinking Moore would be the guy I would target, but I am also thinking I would like to see how Hock is used, cause if they pepper him with targets his value could really spike and I could sell for a more Elite WR.

Thoughts?
12 Team 1QB PPR
8 Starters - QB 1, RB 2(4), WR 3(5), TE 1(3)

QB - Kyler Murray, Derek Carr, Kenny Pickett
RB - Christian McCaffrey, Bijan Robinson, Kyren Williams, Travis Etienne, James Conner, Antonio Gibson, Chris Rodriguez
WR - Tee Higgins, Jordan Addison, Michael Pittman, Nico Collins, Rashee Rice, Christian Watson, Jerry Jeudy, Rashod Bateman
TE - Sam Laporta, Kyle Pitts, Darren Waller, Isaiah Likely
Picks - 2.10, 3.10, 4.10, 5.10

That's tough, I value Moore over Hock in a non-TEP format, but I don't think I'd move Hockenson for Moore in TEP. Hockenson is primed to move into that next tier this year, he already earned 100+ targets last year and now he's even more experienced and easily the best pass catching option in Detroit. Hockenson can be a nice starting option already and is your future TE1 for when you move on from Kelce. It's SOOOOOOOO hard to acquire elite TEs, I just don't think I could let him go.

I’d hold on this scenario. Having 2 top 6 TEs in a TEP league is huge. While the value is on the WR side normally, I don’t believe it is here.
12 Team 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1Flex, 5IDP

16 Team 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flex
QB: Stafford, Fields
RB: Gibbs, Singletary, Dallas, Juszczyk
WR: Lamb, Burks, G Wilson, JSN, Q Johnson, Hardman, Goodwin
TE: Dulcich, Albert O, Gray, Granson

In a TE prem league I'd want more for him. Ideally I'd wait until the season starts. If you are off to a poor start with aging qb's and ARod's future uncertain I may re-assess my team after week 5 /6. If your in it and competing I'm go for it. If your team has a few injuries, etc I may look to move Kelce for a premium and see what you can get for ARod / Ryan and do a mini re-tooling, possibly trade for a Watson on the cheap when we hopefully know more in the next few months. You have several quality young rb's, but not a ton of upside at qb / wr in the near future.

I would be really tempted to move Hockenson for either as I think Moore and Godwin are both great assets. With premium setting, I could see holding here though. What is the premium by the way?

WR - 0.75
TE - 1.5
WOW, this further increases the gap for me. Hockenson should be valued above the Godwin's and DJM's in this format, AND you can start two TEs

Holding Hockenson is the way to go here.

If hock is in your starting lineup now there is really no reason to make this trade on a contender. While you do need to improve your WRs this trade only helps the teams trying to compete with you.

I’d hold Hockenson and use picks or Ekeler and picks to upgrade at WR. There is no reason to break up a strong TE corps in premium unless there are NO other options.
