Am I too much of a Value Seeker?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Am I too much of a Value Seeker?

Postby TheBum » Thu Jul 01, 2021 2:01 pm

Here is my team currently:

***THIS IS A STANDARD LEAGUE****

QB - Mahomes, Tlaw, Darnold
RB - Kamara, Dobbins, Mixon, Dmont, Darrell Henderson, Gus Edwards, Lat Murray
WR - Chris Godwin, Ceedee, Terry McLaurin, Golladay, Jeudy, Elijah Moore, Jaylen Waddle
TE - Kelce, Kittle, Fant

I was offered the following:

Jamar Chase and a 2022 1

for

Mixon and a projected earlier 2022 1

If I am chasing value I feel it's Chase but I also don't feel this helps me. Thoughts?
I’m just here to not get wrecked in trades.

Chase side by a mile then figure out a Mixon replacement later, that's too oooooo much value to pass on

Edit**** I misread the picks involved. I think it's much closer than I originally thought, I'd probably hold your side

This puts a lot of stock in Montgomery as your RB3, but I would make this deal long term. This is Mixon's last shot to hold solid value in my opinion and I understand all the camp talk is all over Mixon again this year. I moved him this offseason after holding since his rookie year and don't regret it. I think this is really solid value. The argument could be made that Chase is already more valuable.

This ultimately comes down to if you can live with it if Mixon finally hits more than anything because I do see the value here. I'm guessing this is a 1 QB format also?

Edit: I submitted right one you submitted the format. The potentially earlier 1st is easier to let go of in a 1 QB format. I read the post as the 1st you are moving is supposed to be earlier than the 1st you are getting back or does that mean the pick you move is likely top 3?

The 1 I am giving up is likely 1.03-1.05. The one he’s giving me is from the team that won the title.

The question comes down to trading Chase for Mixon and would you do it? If the difference between them is less than the dip in 1sts for you, I’d do it.

I was on board with chase until I saw you only have to start 2 wrs. Is it PPR?
12 team. PPR. QB pass td = 6
Starters: QB(1) FLEX (RB/WR/TE)(2) RB(2) WR(3) TE(1)

QB: AR, DJones
RB: Gibby, Charb, KMiller, Akers
WR: Chase, Lamb, G Wilson, Tank Dell, Burks, Mimsy, Tutu, W Robinson, Tucker, Wicks, RBell
TE: DNjoku, Hunter Henry

Draft Picks: 2024: 1.2, 1.5, 1.11. 2025: 1st Round (2) 2nd Round (1), 2026: 1st Round (1) 2nd Round (2)

Non PPR starting 2 RB, 2 WR and a flex, presuming R/W/T. Start Kittle and Kelce at TE and flex, only start 2 WR between Godwin/McLaurin/Ceedee.

The specifics of this league lead me to pass on giving the more valuable player to build less valuable depth AND give a pick upgrade.
League #1- 14 tm ppr, 1Q, 2R, 3W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1K
1 DT, 2 DE, 2 LB, 1 CB, 1 S, 1 flex

League #2- 12 team PPR, 1Q, 1R, 2W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1 W/R/T, 1 Def

League #3- 12 tm PPR, 1Q, 0R (yes, ZERO RB) 3W, 1T, 2 R/W/T flex, 1 Def

Agree with Pullo Vision. In a standard scoring league with shallow starting requirements, Mixon > Chase. The fact that you’d also be giving up the better pick makes it an easier pass.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

🦬PRIME🦬
QB: Hurts, Howell
RB: Mixon, Jones, Sanders, Dobbins, Akers, Roschon, Dowdle, Kelley
WR: Nuk, Godwin, Cooper, Lockett, Flowers, Chark, Collins, Hollins, Tillman, Tolbert
TE: Hockenson, Chig, Trautman
Taxi: Willis, Z. White, M. Mims, T. Palmer

Hull Awaits
$450 cap, 60 contract years

QB: Lawrence $5/3, Richardson $5/5, Minshew $1/0, Jones $1/0, Heinicke $1/0, Tyrod $1/0
RB: Achane $4/4, Warren $2/4, Roschon $7/5, Dillon $4/1, Hubbard $2/1, Kelley $1/0
WR: Nuk $78/1, MT $25/1, M. Williams $1/0, JSN $21/5, Reed $4/5, Rice $4/5, M. Wilson $2/5
TE: Thomas $1/0, Hill $1/0, Parham $1/0

Chase side for me......Mixon never was and never will be a stud, he's above average in a good situation, but thats it. The offense seems ready to let burrow throw a ton. I like Chase upside way more than mixon. Plus you can flip one or two of your WR's to grab a stud RB since you have many greta starting WR's. I would easily go with the Chase side.
12 team PPR
QB- Lamar, Burrow, Richardson
WR- K. Allen, Garrett Wilson, Pickens, OBJ, DeVonta Smith, Wan'dale, Tillman
RB- McCaffrey, Chubb, Sanders, Dobbins, Brian Robinson, Roschon, Ford, Rodriguez
TE- Henry, Knox, Ferguson, Laporta, Darnell washington
K- Butker
DST- Steelers, eagles

2024 picks - 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th

1QB, 2WR, 2RB, 1TE, 1 FLEX (WR/RB/TE), K, DST -------1 pt. - PPR
