Which side gets better deal (update pg2)

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Which side gets better deal (update pg2)

Postby j4pac » Mon Jun 28, 2021 11:57 am

Who gets the better end of this trade in a 12 team, 12 player dynasty draft? It’s essentially a rookie draft because of the 144 keepers

Aaron Jones
Julio Jones
1.12

for

CEH
1.7

Dead even for me. The 1.07 isn't a huge tier difference for me vs 1.12 in this rookie draft. The value is squarely on the Jones/Jones side but the CEH side has an eye on the future and may look stronger beginning in 2022.

Future vs Now. Just depends on what each team needs. I agree the value from 7-12 is similar. If KC uses CEH more in the parking game with a better OLine, then this could be a big win for that owner. Or loss depending on if the deal gets done

Welcome to the community!

The Jones's + if contending and CEH + if a year or so out. Even the 1.07 is just outside the elite tier for me.

I’m thinking I like the CEH side and the higher pick. 7 might be outside the top 6 but I’ve seen some strange drafts where one of those guys makes it there b/c of someone drafting TLaw for instance.

edit: I’m not sure you would need to include the 1.12. Maybe a 2nd rounder???
PW league - 10 tm Dynasty league-Roster/Keep 28 - Pass:1/20 3pt TD; Run/Rec:1/10 6pt TD; no ppr; no neg pts
st:1 qb, 2 rb, 3 wr, 1 te, 1 k, 1 d, no flex
QB - TLaw, Tua, JimmyG
RB - Chubb, Javonte, Perine, Jaleel, BRob, Moss, Bigsby, RoJo (Chi), Tucker, C-Rod, Chase, Spiller, Zamir
WR - Addison, Godwin, Nico, Gabe, Zay Jones, Mooney, Hyatt, Tillman
TE - Kincaid, Kraft
PK -Tucker
Def - 49ers
Picks: 2024 - 1-7, add’l 3rd; 2025 - 1-7

E league - 14 team-can keep up to 9 but keeper round moves up 1 each year, no 1st or 2nd round players can be kept; number is parens = next year’s keeper round; * = player was kept for 2023
Pass 1/20, 4pt TD, Run/Rec 1/10, 6pt TD, 1ppr, Fum/Int = -1, other scoring is pretty regular
QB - Jimmy G(*16), Purdy(*9), Stafford(12)
RB - D-Mont, AJ Dillon, Lenny(17), Carter (19), D’Onta(9), P Taylor
WR - JJeff(3), Adams(*4), Godwin(*8), MWill(*5), OBJ(*13), Woods, Hyatt(10), Tillman(18)
TE - PatF(6), Mayer(10)
PK - Moody
Def - TBB

I was the one with the Joneses and the guy with CEH shot down the trade. His rationale was that he isn’t in win now mode. I have the best team in the league coming off of a championship so even though I suppose I’m in win now mode...I think I could win either way. Since CEH is a no go...are there other equivalent RBs I should try to trade for? I already own Kamara and Akers. I was thinking Jonathon Taylor. Not sure Dobbins, Swift, or Gibson are worth it.

Jonathan Taylor is worth SIGNIFICANTLY more than CEH. I highly doubt you could get him alone for that package, let alone get a better 1st back with him.

As a CEH owner myself, I would easily trade him straight up for Swift, Dobbins or Gibson, so if you could work a similar deal for one of those guys, that’d be an even better return. It all depends on whether their respective owners are contending or rebuilding. The package you’re offering is really only appealing to a strong contender.

JT isn’t equivalent to the rest and would require a huge over pay.
Definitely agree that your package is more appealing to a strong contender.
Swift should be the easiest target right now, he’s not getting much love at all.

The problem with Swift is that Aaron Jones may simply be better. I’m just not sure about him. Plus the guy who has him is a Lions fan.

The two guys I’m most interested, young guys who can be elite...Jonathon Taylor and Saquon Barkley.

I’m going to propose:
Aaron Jones + Julio Jones + Damien Harris + 4.3

for

Saquon Barkley + 2.3

Here would be my before roster:
QB: K Murray
RB: A Kamara
RB: C Akers
RB/WR: A Jones
WR: T Hill
WR: M Thomas
WR/TE: D Moore
TE: D Goedert
FLEX: J Jones
Bench: Diontae Johnson, R Jones, D Harris
Picks: 1.12, 4.3, 4.12, 5.12, 6.2, 6.12

After:

QB: K Murray
RB: A Kamara
RB: C Akers
RB/WR: S Barkley
WR: T Hill
WR: M Thomas
WR/TE: D Moore
TE: D Goedert
FLEX: Diontae Johnson
Bench: R Jones, Marquez Callaway, Zach Ertz
Picks: 1.12, 2.3, 4.12, 5.12, 6.2, 6.12
SF, PPR, 12 team, 12 player dynasty

QB- Lawrence, Fields, Tannehill (max 2 keepers, 3 rostered)
RB- Bijan Robinson, T Pollard, Allgeier, Charbonnet, Achane, J Wilson, Kelley, K Williams
WR- Lamb, Jeudy, Hill, C Olave, A Pierce, Shaheed, Bourne

I’d be stunned if that gets accepted. I’d be surprised if you could get Barkley alone for Jones/Jones/Harris/1.12.
