Waller Trade

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Waller Trade

Postby hudini33 » Wed Jun 23, 2021 7:04 am

Team 2 in sig.

Was offered this, and I'm wondering if I'm crazy for wanting to take it.

I give: Waller
I get: Damien Harris, Dallas Goedert, Quintez Cephus

I'm thinking of asking for a 2022 2nd or Josh Palmer instead. Thoughts?

First, are you trying to win right now? If so, definitely keep Waller over this. I would want to see Goedert perform with Hurts before I trust him. I think Goedert is as talented as any top TE, but I fear for that offense with Hurts at QB.

Value-wise, I'd still want more for a top-tier performer like Waller if you are selling with a focus on the future. I would not want to sell a stud in his prime unless I was gettting at least one proven stud back. I'd want something more like Goedert + an early/mid 1st or Goedert + a young up-and-comer.

TL;DR: You have a very valuable dynasty asset in Waller and I would not sell him short, even in a rebuild. I'd want a lot more.

Where we are right now, I would easily hold Waller. He is the best piece by far in this deal. All three pieces you are getting back have big upside but no guarantee. Waller is a target hog and has shown he is an elite option at a position void of even decent options much less elite ones.

So you want to trade a elite te for two back ups and a te that isn't in the same class as Waller???? In ever deal I want the best asset and that is clearly Waller here. What can we expect out of Godert, Hurts, the entire offense? Easy pass here.

I'm always suspicious of trades in which I'm offered 3 pieces for my 1. And here's a good example of why the suspicion is warranted.
