2 2022 1sts for Dobbins?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

2 2022 1sts for Dobbins?

Postby TTHTD » Tue Jun 15, 2021 4:46 pm

I'm looking to acquire Dobbins. People are getting low on him and I'd like to strike on that because I think he's a stud. Would 2 2022 1sts be a good initial offer?

2 firsts in superflex is a strong offer for Dobbins. I didn’t realize anyone was getting low on him though—what’s causing that?

Fair opening offer in my opinion. Huge upside and an overall solid situation minus the carries he will lose to Jackson. Goal line situation is his biggest question mark.

Guess on where the picks will be? Seems like solid offer for SF. I’d need one of those to be pretty early to move him in 1qb

Gus being re-signed to a decent contract and the coach talking about running an RBBC is making people think it's going to be a 3-way RBBC between Lamar, Dobbins, and Gus. Some are seeing him as volatile or lower ceiling.

One of them is mine and the other belongs to a good team with little depth. One unlucky injury to a stud could take them out of contention pretty easily.

Two 1sts is a respectable opening offer.

That's a good starting point. An owner in a standard league was asking me for two (latish) 1sts + Diontae.

I almost think I'd rather have the picks because of a uncertain role with all the other running options they have. I'd be looking at all options out there right now, or are you simply set on him?

He's the RB I like the most in that Swift/Akers/Dobbins/Gibson tier, I think he is the safest of the 4, but he's also the guy who is the most attainable. The owner is in rebuild and would probably like to both have some picks and sending off a good RB would help him tank his own pick to the 1.01.

I've also heard that 2022 is good for WR but not RB which is where my need is.

I would take Akers of those 4, at least until the Ravens offense changes significantly. The current setup, with coach-darling Gus and TD-stealing Jackson caps Dobbins' ceiling at high RB2/low RB1.

From my experience so far this year, not many are valuing him "low" as you suggest. He's right there with the other sophomore RBs besides Taylor from what I've seen in startups. I do like him but I also think his upside is somewhat capped with his current situation. Even with a weaker 2022 class upcoming, I don't think I'd trade two firsts for him when the most likely outcome is he finishes around RB 10. I'd have to be one of the favorites already to entertain that idea. Otherwise, you could be trading a couple mid 1sts for him which I would not do.

I would hold my picks. I view him as a high end RB2 (10-15). Given how Balt splits carries and Lamar has shown difficulties throwing last year, teams are stacking the box daring him to throw and they lost a good tackle. Hard for me to see a RB1 coming out of that.
