Future 2022 1st for a RB

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Future 2022 1st for a RB

Postby wickerkat1212 » Mon Jun 14, 2021 1:35 pm

In a 12-man league where we start THREE RBs MINIMUM, I need some depth and upgrades, and I want to move my 2022 1st (in the 7-10 range most likely) for a RB. Would you offer up that 2022 1st for any of the following RBs? Likewise, if you were on the other side, would you TAKE that offer? In other words, which seems the most likely?

ONE GUY has Barkley, Cook, and and Jones, but I might be able to pry away Mike Davis or the newly acquired Carter.

OTHERS I'M LOOKING AT:

James Robinson (ETN is going to mess this RBBC up)
Myles Gaskin
Gus Edwards

THOUGHTS? ANYONE ELSE I SHOULD TARGET?

Thanks. (This is for Dynasty #4 in my signature below.)

FWIW Carter went at the 1.10 spot.

That's early for Carter, but he's been going there. Undersized change of pace back with 4th round draft capital. I'm just not sold that he's an every down guy. This is a weak running back class behind the top 3 guys and there is always demand at the position.

I have been targeting CEH in almost every league. He has draft capital and they use him in that offense. Big upgrades at O Line and no competition brought in. Given your build, I would offer Keenan Allen and a 1st for CEH and a younger receiver.

Gaskin helps this year and possibly longer if you are all in. Davis helps now but little to no long term value or hope. Carter is a gamble if he hits or not obviously. I think Davis is your best hope of being accepted again if you are all in.

Absolutely not for any of those guys

I'd take the approach of packaging a 1st+WR for a good RB rather than dumpster diving

Thanks. He did well backing up McC and I had to start him as my RB3 in another league and he did quite well. I like him.

Right? So EVERYONE is struggling at RB. There are not only the top 32 starters, but then backups, 3rd down PPR backs, rookies, you name it. You have to be creative. Not everyone has three RB1s obviously.

Hines, AJ Dillon, Damien Harris, Pollard, JD Mckissick, Fournette. Maybe try sending 2nds for guys like that. I'm sure everyone is expensive in that format. I'd send a late 1st for Dillon in that format. His value could skyrocket and you could probably use him as an rb3 in a pinch.

I'd drop TTerry and if not TEP I'd drop Kmet and add extra fliers if possible like Chris Evans and Gerrid Doaks, elijah Mitchell and Jarrett Patterson types. Try and spike value at the RB position rather than WR fliers.

Must start 3 RBs in a 12-team league is pretty crazy. I can see why RB values would be through the roof. That said, the guys you listed are probably in that weird zone where you don’t wanna pay a 1st for them, but their owners have very little incentive to sell for less.

Have you offered up your stud WRs in an attempt to get a legit RB1? I’d look for teams in your league who are weak at WR and strong at RB and see what you could get for Tyreek or JJ. I’d happily add a presumed late 1st to either of them for someone like Akers or Swift in this format.
Both are 12-team 1QB PPR dynasties

🦬PRIME🦬
QB: Hurts, Howell
RB: Mixon, Jones, Sanders, Dobbins, Akers, Roschon, Dowdle, Kelley
WR: Nuk, Godwin, Cooper, Lockett, Flowers, Chark, Collins, Hollins, Tillman, Tolbert

Hull Awaits

QB: Lawrence $5/3, Richardson $5/5, Minshew $1/0, Jones $1/0, Heinicke $1/0, Tyrod $1/0
RB: Achane $4/4, Warren $2/4, Roschon $7/5, Dillon $4/1, Hubbard $2/1, Kelley $1/0
WR: Nuk $78/1, MT $25/1, M. Williams $1/0, JSN $21/5, Reed $4/5, Rice $4/5, M. Wilson $2/5

James Conner, Melvin Gordon, Drake are all low buy rentals that you can probably get for a 2nd or 3rd depending on where they are. I've had an awful time selling a few of these guys on non competitive teams.

Chris Carson isn't quite worth a 1st, but Carson + for a 22 1st is an option. Nerd Hurd seems to love him.
