Trade Pollard?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Trade Pollard?

Postby Jcedwards » Tue Jun 08, 2021 7:44 pm

What is Pollard’s value? I’m looking at potentially trading him to the Zeke owner. He has picks 2.04 and 2.06.

Is he worth 1 of those straight up? Is he worth adding to 2.12 to get 2.04? Or with 2.12 for 2.06? Or am I better off just holding?

I would try for either pick straight up if you have targets in that range. I dont value Pollard as much, but I'm not a handcuff guy.

A mid 2nd is probably fair for Pollard, but I don’t really love any of the rookies going in that range other than Lance and Fields. If it’s for the team in your sig, you look pretty strong everywhere. I definitely wouldn’t add the 2.12 to him for either of those picks, and it’s unlikely any rookie you take at 2.04 or 2.06 is liable to crack your starting lineup.

I don’t normally disagree with Gator, but I don’t view Pollard as just a pure handcuff. I think he could have standalone value this year as a bye week flex play, and if Zeke gets hurt, it’s wheels up. I’d prefer to wait until the picks are on the clock and see if someone you like falls, but either pick is a fair return for Pollard if you’re thinking of moving on from him. It’s highly unlikely you get a better offer, but you could wind up regretting it if something happens to Zeke.

Agree with M-Dub. He has shown nice flashes in spot duty over the past 2 years, and if/when Zeke misses time, he'll be the lead back in one of the best supporting casts. There were also reports that he may see some snaps at WR this year. So a first-rounder would be too lofty, but I wouldn't add anything if I were to trade him for the 2.04 or 2.06.

Id take any of those 2nds for Pollard. He may get a few spot starts, but unless you are a zeke owner looking for insurance i don't see him having a role in fantasy barring injury to zeke.

I agree that I wouldn’t add anything. and I of course would shoot for the 2.04, then “settle” if need be on the 2.06.

Funny that you say that, because Lance is the one that I would be targeting by moving up. I don't need him, since I have Mahomes, but I would love to add Lance as a backup, since Carr and Winston are uncertain going forward. Other than that, I don't really have anyone in mind if I was to get either of those picks.

I may end up holding Pollard, because I don't feel like this guy will trade a mid 2nd straight up for Pollard. But I am still high on Pollard, and hope that he will get more action this year. He would definitely be a top 10 RB if anything were to happen to Zeke. So unless the other owner will trade either of his 2nds for him straight up, I'm probably going to hold.

Appreciate the input everyone. Waiting to hear back from the other owner to see what he thinks.

The Zeke owner isn’t that high on him and said he doesn’t view him as a mid 2nd. Said he’d do 2.06 for 2.08 and Pollard, which I obviously said no. I told him I’d think about 2.08 and Pollard for 2.04, or 2.12 and him for 2.06 (and even then that’s probably not enough), so nothing may happen there.

Solid hold then, no need to trade him for peanuts.

Yeah hold him. I think he might end up being a flex option at times this season and if Zeke is in decline then it’s full blown timeshare. Pollard has been pretty good and he is well liked and trusted in Dallas too

Yea I’m going to hold him (at least in this package). Kind of shocked that the guy thinks that little of Pollard. But, he’s not really hurting anything on my bench, since I have 4 other RBs that I can count on weekly, and if Zeke misses time, I have a top RB.

I do have another owner interested and we’ve thrown out a potential trade of Pollard+ for 1.12, so we will see if that leads to anything.
