Startup superflex IDP strategy

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Startup superflex IDP strategy

Postby yellowdart2448 » Tue May 18, 2021 12:29 pm

Joined a 12 team SF IDP dynasty league. Ive played in IDP leagues before but never from a startup. What would be the general strategy? Avoid defense until the end or a balanced approach. I assume scoring would matter. It’s set up to slightly favor offense over defense but the defensive studs have the potential to put up big numbers. Thanks!

Good question, and one that doesn't have an easy answer. Also, not much help out there on the interwebs. I personally don't touch IDPs in the first 10 rounds or so. I want to have locked up 2-3QBs, 3WR, 3RBs, and 1TE before I dip into that pool. But scoring is important, so my strategy would change if the top 5 LBs score at WR2 or above level.

I would go with a typical SF approach and put off IDP as players come out of nowhere a fair amount on that side of the ball.
